3000 GPs just completed their training
There are only 250 job GP roles available across 6277 GP practices
Patients have said GP access as the most important concern in #NHS provision @wesstreeting but still minimal investment in access, just empty words

PA's performing Caesarean Sections ...an operation with a potential for 200% mortality and morbidity....does anyone think this is OK....did the Consultants think this was OK....shocking.
Royal colleges and the UK Health Security Agency have urged pregnant women to take up pertussis vaccination and for parents to ensure that their children have been vaccinated, after a surge in whooping cough cases and eight infant deaths

The Government are only funding Additional Roles (ARRS) & telephones
Whilst cutting GP funding by 20% £/patient in real terms since 2016
The result is fewer GPs, GP leaving or unemployed
Remember the Govt promised 6000 more GPs in 2019 manifesto - instead we have 2000 fewer
Tories, NHS England, Department of Health are all at it, sharing the success of 50 million more GP appts
But there’s a problem, the extra appts are not with actual GPs, 10m are, but 40m are with the 30,000 extra staff brought in under additional roles
Fewer GPs as not funded 🤷🏻♂️
Boris Johnson today calls Starmer “Sir Keir Schnorrer” (see attached). “Schnorrer” is the Yiddish word for beggar and scrounger. It is pretty offensive. It was part of the lingua franca of my grandparents and of my childhood. I find it unsettling to see Johnson appropriating it to describe someone whose wife is Jewish - and especially when he says “if Schnorrer gets in, he will immediately begin the process of robbing this country of
its new-found independence
and make the UK the punk of the EU”. What do you think? Am I being over sensitive?
NHS England leadership don’t want you to see a GP
They have cut GP Practice Funding by 20% £/patient in real terms since 2016, have moved funding to ARRS (Additional Roles) at the expense of recruitment & retention of GPs & Practice Nurses
None understand the needs of patients
A group of anaesthetists is raising funds for a legal challenge to the GMC’s plans for regulating physician associates and anaesthesia associates, claiming the GMC’s role will blur lines between doctors and those who aren't medically qualified @AnaesUnited

We have appalling health inequalities in the UK. The poorest generally get to 50 in ok health followed by 25 years of poor health & die at 75. The richest usually make it to 75 years in decent health & have 15 years of poorer health. Dental inequalities are even worse, with 190 children undergoing dental extractions EVERY SINGLE WORKING DAY, with average waiting times in some areas over 80 weeks. Until we address health & dental inequalities, we have no chance of fixing the NHS, social care or NHS dentistry.

Would introducing a risk-assessed physician associate (PA) indemnity insurance scheme more accurately reflect the true costs of using more PAs in the NHS?

The failure to foresee a problem when trying to make a planned change is only a complete failure if you continue with that change, despite overwhelming evidence it’s the wrong plan
Titanic, Post Office…. NHS England/Royal Colleges/GMC
Accountability for failure or change now?
