@idoswim I will also add my hometown is one of the sites where these bigger meets keep occurring due to a newer nice facility but i still think its dumb
Here’s another tip to help grow the sport: Don’t have the main series of professional competitions visit a small suburb of Chicago or similar less heard of areas
@idoswim I think everyone is missing the point. Has nothing to do with the nice facilities coming up in the middle to upper class suburbs of major cities. If the goal is to keep spectators exclusively limited to the local age group team and family of swimmers competing then job well done
@PuddleJumper358 Never said best way. I think these events would draw more attention being in more well known or densely populated areas kinda like every major sport does.
@PuddleJumper358 USA has plenty of other cities and places people want to travel to with nice facilities. Can’t see many international athletes excited to travel to some of these locations.
@swim_alchemist Just the relay start. You can go an all out 100 twice in a session. Were only training thousands and thousands of yards a day for one meet. Theres a long diving break before the relays. If you’re not recovering and stepping back up for the relay, you’re doing something wrong
