@VirtueOfNothing @RCoANews @AnaesUnited I would advocate the AA role being supervised by ST7s on a daily basis. ST7’s learn to supervise whilst still supported. This approach also aids the impact on training issue. How would this work then?

If you asked me about greatest change over the 40 years I worked in the NHS I would say the loss of consultant autonomy. The horrifying story of the baby-murders at Chester and the management’s refusal to listen to the doctors is a ghastly culmination of this process.

@doctimcook Post EWTD and COVID training hours have reduced. Perhaps this is a cohort that need accelerated learning through increased (supervised) failure and immediate correction rates (with default access to VL) not an absence of failures?
