@RCEMpresident@CUH_NHS My goodness, you’ve done a proper job of that! Glad you are getting great care from your colleagues, best wishes for a speedy recovery.
In an A and E department of a Liverpool hospital, people are lying in pain on the floor, waiting hours to be seen by a doctor
This is a daily reality of the NHS crisis
(thread)
The uncomfortable truth that dare not be said is that many do not need to see a GP or attend A&E. Society is now about the individual not the whole. We’ve seen it for years- “so what if there’s dying people in Resus? What about my sprained ankle?”.
@BBCHughPym While the aims of this plan are inarguably the right ones, the capacity just isn’t there in the system and I fear this might just trigger an exodus of staff from primary care
@RCEMpresident@RCollEM So sad to see the system in this state. So sad to be apologising all the time to patients who we can’t provide with timely care, a safe environment or sufficient privacy and dignity. And it’s not even winter yet 😔
@Adam16031@Louise243@mazwilko1@seahorse4000 Yeah, why let the patient choose, what could they possibly know about their medical problems and treatment needs that a GP can’t guess down the phone 🙄
@DRaven_EM “We’ve thoroughly investigated the matter and as a result have sent the canary for resilience and wellness training to prevent them from succumbing under the burden of overwhelming pressures in the future”
Thank you to all of our incredible staff working today.
After what has been a challenging year, and continues to be, we are so grateful for you in ensuring our patients are safe and well cared for every day of the year.
Wishing everyone a very Merry Christmas!
