Sprinkling some toasted sesame seeds and garnishing with gari (pickled ginger) does not make it a Japanese dish. Or even a Japanese inspired dish. Neither does the casual application of furikake. Especially when you are putting it on fried chicken. People, please.
When people ask me to help get them impossible reservations at Tokyo restaurants & I do, the least I expect is some feedback from the experience. “It was great!” “Wow, loved it!” Or something like that. Anything, really. But often NOTHING. Silence. What happened to manners?
Is there anything more annoying than some guy who consistently posts Instagram photos of himself posing in his first class airline seat and photos of his first class meal, course by course? A friend recently showed me some photos. Such people do exist.
@Carolineoncrack Who is he influencing if he uses social media to boast how rich he is and how much wealth he has to throw around? But then again I guess that’s why the Kardashians have so many followers.
The people who follow me on Instagram are very explicit in what they like.
I post photos of sushi, oysters and uni and they’re like “OMG Yesss😍🤪🤩”.
I post stunning landscapes & portraits of interesting people and they’re like “*yawn* whatever 😴😑 *crickets*”
Complimentary baby strollers at the international airport terminal. Chinese tourists using all of them to push their luggage around while shopping at the duty free counter, leaving tired parents to carry around their crying babies & toddlers. These tourists should be punished.
Headed to Europe. Lots of food & wine on the horizon. Looking forward to good times with friends & family. Trembling with excitement. The toddler sitting behind me on the airplane is screaming bloody murder. We haven’t even taken off yet. I need earplugs & Ambien.
