Hanging out in Vegas with geeks is great, but there's something even better... leaving Vegas to come home! Ahhh fresh air! #mix10

Thank you PDC for once again bringing me in close proximity to In-n-Out!

@wimbokkers Nah... I've got plenty of other nicknames. ;P

Rumor has it that the doc will be at The Standard tonight.

@aeoth That's certainly a fair point! We're getting lots of goodness in WPF4, but there's no excuse for the lack of an improved media stack!

That's my take on the evolution of the XAML-based platforms... Now good luck putting these tweets in reverse order! :P

If you are writing a web app or you simply don’t need direct access to the Windows client, use Silverlight.

[Dr. WPF @DrWPF]

In the meantime, if you’re writing an application that needs the full power of Windows, use WPF.

Have patience and one day we will be able to say definitively that WPF is dead… but not yet! ;)

[Dr. WPF @DrWPF]

Really, the only drawback I see to greater parity between WPF and Silverlight is the reduced opportunity to make fun of web developers! ;)

Technically, WPF is just the portion of the .NET framework dedicated to the presentation layer in Windows.

[Dr. WPF @DrWPF]

And then there's the full .NET brand.

[Dr. WPF @DrWPF]

WPF already has a cool brand, imho... it's called Windows! (Oh yeah... that's what the 'W' stands for.)

[Dr. WPF @DrWPF]

I'm also a bit tired of the whining about the lack of "cool" branding for WPF.

[Dr. WPF @DrWPF]

Until then, we have WPF and all its Windows goodness, upon which Microsoft is placing a lot of big bets (like VS 2010).

[Dr. WPF @DrWPF]

It is much more likely that WPF will someday be replaced by an entirely different client platform.

[Dr. WPF @DrWPF]

There is still a long ways to go before Silverlight gives us full access to the client, but every incremental gain is a good thing.
