@dmtrubman 20 years ago a grad school classmate worked out a metric based on access. His concern was that the standard metrics didn’t reflect the fact a neighborhood may have a park within 1/4 mile but it was blocked by a highway.

@DrSianAllen Sports on the left generally require private facilities and families pay the full cost.
Sports to the right often take place in public facilities and are highly subsidized by tax dollars.
Most of my athletes (Alpine ski racing) play multiple travel sports. Easily >$50k/kid
