@xgigglypuff It’s difficult to learn much about Appalachia from Hillbilly Elegy since it takes place in western Ohio. Did you read The Glass Castle? Not all of it takes place in Appalachia but a good portion does.

@lxeagle17 The UC schools (and Cal Poly SLO) also don’t consider standardized test scores, so the score is irrelevant for half the schools he applied to. So he’s a kid applying to the toughest major to get into with a 4.4, possibly with a meh essay and recs. Go to UMD. Enjoy.

@ADHDrunsme858 @USA_Polling Meh, they probably had a crush on a someone of the same sex once and figure it means they’re bi, whereas an older person wouldn’t classify themselves this way unless they had been in a full -on same sex relationship. When you drill down, increase is usually in “B” not “L” or “G”.

@nancyannyerick @Thatz_Okay @atrupar The first time I made enough to not pay into SS partway through the year, I called payroll and asked them why may check was higher. I had no idea there was a cap. I wouldn’t have missed the money if they’d have kept taking it out, and neither would most others.
