𝗔𝗰𝗰𝗲𝗹𝗲𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗜𝗻𝗻𝗼𝘃𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝗔𝗜 𝗶𝗻 𝗖𝗵𝗲𝗺𝗶𝗰𝗮𝗹 𝗘𝗻𝗴𝗶𝗻𝗲𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗴

The Department of Chemical Engineering at IISER Bhopal successfully organized a two-day workshop on "AI-Enabled Modeling, Materials Design, and Process Optimization in Chemical Engineering," bringing together experts from academia, national research laboratories, and industry to explore how Artificial Intelligence is transforming chemical engineering research and innovation.

The workshop featured keynote lectures, hands-on sessions, industry demonstrations, student presentations, and an engaging panel discussion on the future of AI and Generative AI in scientific research. Participants gained insights into AI-driven process modeling, materials discovery, hydrogen technologies, multiscale simulations, microfluidics, and digital engineering, fostering interdisciplinary learning and collaboration.

The event was inaugurated in the presence of Prof. R. S. Tomar (Director In-Charge), Prof. Sanjit Konar (Deputy Director), and Prof. Chandan Sahi (Dean, Research & Development), whose addresses underscored the growing role of AI in shaping the future of engineering education and research.

The Department extends its sincere gratitude to all distinguished speakers, panelists, participants, the Institute administration, and the funding partners, Anusandhan National Research Foundation (ANRF), NETWEB Technologies, and CADFEM-ANSYS, for their invaluable support in making the workshop a grand success.

Yes, you read it right. But these are not arrangements to buy high-level, classified, military-grade software. These are the arrangements made by the Ministry of Education for the NEET retest scheduled for 21st June 2026.

Every student would appreciate the government's efforts to prevent paper leaks by implementing additional security measures and enhanced monitoring. But an increase in scrutiny before entry, extended frisking, and an increase in the overall exam time from 180 minutes to 195 minutes will only add to their already ballooning exam pressure.

While the government has taken measures to contain leaks, they have forgotten the additional burden they have imposed on a young student before they take up an assessment, one that they have spent months preparing for, dissolving the entire purpose of our exam system and the NEP 2020’s goal to reduce “Exam Stress”.

Despite all these arrangements for the examination, there are issues with downloading the admit cards, and NTA has assured students that it will resolve them at the earliest.

Yes, there are challenges that demand meaningful solutions. However, I am concerned that the approach devised for the NEET retest may not resolve the issue; instead, it risks creating a new set of problems.
