Mathematician Benedikt Jahnel said that, if a human had solved a problem like this, it could plausibly have been Fields Medal level work 👀
AI just solved a decades old holy grail” problem in probability theory that resisted elite mathematicians for decades
Anthropic says its AI generated a proof resolving a famous conjecture in percolation theory, the mathematics of how random local connections suddenly form large scale connected structures.
The big open question concerned dimensions 3 through 10. Mathematicians already knew the relevant phase transition was continuous in 1D, 2D, and dimensions 11+, but the middle range had remained unresolved. The new AI generated proof shows that the transition is continuous there too, filling the decades old gap.
2022 Fields Medalist Hugo Duminil-Copin had tried and failed to solve the conjecture, then wrote in late August that it was only a matter of time before AI beat humans to it.
From KITT -> Cybercab
Knight Rider imagined an intelligent car that could talk and drive autonomously.
Cybercab turned that idea into reality. The future caught up.

The world is about to get unimaginably strange, extremely fast.
Griffin just crossed a wild threshold in AI video.
On NVIDIA’s full duplex video benchmark, 44% of people mistook it for a real human, while other systems were around 3%.
It’s being described as the first Human Interaction Model to pass a video Turing Test.
Feeling the AGI/ASI, few observations
1. Opus 5.5 really gives strong vibes of AGI (maybe not fully there, but we're very close, like 80%-90%).
For example, few breakthoughs in training humanoids are needed. We need to move this intelligence into physical world.
2. I don't think Anthropic has discovered any magical formula.
3. Which means, SpaceXAI, Google, and others will soon follow. This prediction is based on the amount of compute they already have + additional compute being added all the time.
4. Never was more confident that Anthropic, SpaceXAI, Google, OpenAI, likely Meta, basically all big US AGI labs will have proper AGI in 2027.
5. And from there we'll move quickly to ASI territory (likely also in 2027).
It looks like few GW of compute are enough for strong AGI, now imagine what we will able to do with 10-20GW of compute which are rapidly coming online.
And then with 100GW-200GW...
2027 will be an utterly insane year.
1000x acceleration is very close
First OpenAI, Anthropic, Google, now Meta, soon SpaceX, then the big Chinese labs (I’ve already seen and posted some cool AI discoveries), then medium sized AI labs as they reach current frontier levels, Mistral, Korean, and Japanese models.
BTW. I've heard Mistral has been cooking and will show something cool (near the frontier) in the near future.
Remember, what is cutting edge today will be Tier 2-3 AI next year.
So all these labs only need to reach ~Astra level capabilities to start making breakthroughs in math, biology, and other scientific fields.
Why is this important? Because we will have 10s of labs making 100s, then 1000s, of discoveries instead of just 2-3.
After the labs, every rich university will have this capability.
We need more players doing this to reach 1000 x scientific progress acceleration.
AI will solve aging, aging reversal is coming
AI designed drug shows signs of reversing biological age
Insilico Medicine’s AI discovered and AI designed drug rentosertib, originally developed for idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis, produced a striking secondary result in humans: all 6 proteomic aging clocks measured patients as biologically younger after treatment.
The analysis involved 42 patients in a Phase IIa trial. The strongest regimen showed roughly 3-4 years of predicted biological age reversal after just four weeks, with one aging clock indicating as much as ~6 years.
AI identified the biological target TNIK, and generative AI then designed the drug molecule itself.
The drug has now advanced toward Phase III development for lung fibrosis.

BREAKING: US data center construction spending surged +73% YoY in August, to a record annualized rate of $85 billion.
This follows a +65% YoY increase in June and marks the largest YoY increase since April 2025.
Since the start of 2021, data center construction spending has soared +$76 billion, or +823%.
Meanwhile, general office construction spending fell -10% YoY in August, to $46 billion, the 5th-lowest reading since December 2015.
Since the start of 2023, construction spending on general offices has declined -$25 billion, or -35%.
As a result, the gap between data center and general office construction spending has surged to a record $39 billion.
The AI investment surge is gaining momentum.
2027 will shock us all, even the biggest optimists.
The ramp up in humanoid robot production will still be relatively slow. By that, I mean only a fraction of people will actually be able to buy one next year.
So what I mean is, of course AI and its consequences.
Acceleration continues. We won't slow down until ASI is here.
Humans keep pushing forward no matter how difficult the challenge is.
