NEW WORDS FROM ME @NoCeilingsNBA

My annual tradition of publishing the "My Guys" column of the 2026 NBA Draft cycle!! Read below on the 6 guys that I would bet it all on to bring into my building from this draft class! Honorable Mention: Bruce Thornton

This 76ers team all things considered has had a better first week than I thought would’ve happened. A lot of high usage players coming together for one goal is a massive adjustment. But to be 3-1, with plenty of room to grow, is kind of scary for the rest of the NBA.

[Nathan Grubel @DraftDeeper]

That was an impressive block by Darius Acuff on Cedric Coward. Who says #5 doesn’t play defense?

[Nathan Grubel @DraftDeeper]

If LeBron isn’t going to box out and rebound like a center, then find someone else to play the center minutes like what are we doing…

[Nathan Grubel @DraftDeeper]

LeBron James starting at C for the Philadelphia 76ers tonight against the Detroit Pistons… 👀

[Nathan Grubel @DraftDeeper]

Luka Doncic was absurd in this game against the Jazz. I did really love the efforts by Keyonte George and Ace Bailey, especially on the glass. But Will Hardy really needs to work on his substitution patterns. Too many lineups were with one creator on the floor, and the offense just became too predictable. Too many turnover opportunities for the Lakers, which got them back in the game and the lead.

[Nathan Grubel @DraftDeeper]

These bench lineups for the Jazz have been ROUGH... Depth of this team will continue to be tested

[Nathan Grubel @DraftDeeper]

@JoshEberley Both can be true sir

[Nathan Grubel @DraftDeeper]

Just like that in the second quarter, the Lakers actually stepped up to defend, and shared the ball. Tie ball game. That's partially on Utah still being a young team not doing what was needed to hold the lead.

[Nathan Grubel @DraftDeeper]

That was a piss-poor effort from the Lakers in terms of boxing out and playing defense against the Jazz. Holy smokes. Zero urgency.

[Nathan Grubel @DraftDeeper]

Keyonte George is a consistent pull-up three-point shot from being an All-Star

[Nathan Grubel @DraftDeeper]

[Nathan Grubel @DraftDeeper]

Ace Bailey becoming a monster corner-crashing offensive rebounding wing would be an awesome skill for him to master, and would give the Jazz a nice extra rebounding boost this team needs without another big in the lineup next to Jaren Jackson Jr. and Lauri Markkanen.

[Nathan Grubel @DraftDeeper]

Joaquim Boumtje Boumtje hasn’t made a shot yet in this Kansas exhibition, but you can already see how he’ll impact games for Duke. Legitimate post threat, can seal and command touches down low, with the passing ability and handle to counter the defense. Impressive young player

[Nathan Grubel @DraftDeeper]

“But how could he have upside or become a star when he’s so old?”

[Hoop Central @TheHoopCentral]

YAXEL LENDEBORG TONIGHT:

26 POINTS
9 REBOUNDS
5 ASSISTS
6/11 3PM
36 MINUTES

[Nathan Grubel @DraftDeeper]

This NBA rookie class is going to be JUST fine. Give these guys time. But last night’s performances from Cam Boozer, Caleb Wilson, Darius Acuff these players are special man. Number of other rookies had good outings too. Appreciate this NBA season while we can!

[Nathan Grubel @DraftDeeper]

@KeithSmithNBA Agreed and I know Mitch Rob is the elder statesman, but I was shocked that this wasn't the case to begin with. You can close with whoever has the hot hand, but Queta is the overall better player and should be starting AND playing the bulk of the C minutes period.

[Nathan Grubel @DraftDeeper]

Given the fact he's already making his first start for the Golden State Warriors in GAME TWO of the season... Feel great about this shot I called

[Nathan Grubel @DraftDeeper]

Graham Ike will be on an NBA standard contract before the end of this next season.

[Nathan Grubel @DraftDeeper]

Tyler Herro and Ryan Rollins are one heck of a fun and functional backcourt

[Nathan Grubel @DraftDeeper]

@DLocke09 Small win for the Ace Bailey is ascending agenda

[Nathan Grubel @DraftDeeper]

@RealBobManning I'm so sorry Bobby, I know exactly how that feels. If you need someone to talk to, I'm here big guy

[Nathan Grubel @DraftDeeper]

Trevon Brazile with EIGHT (!!) rebounds in the FIRST QUARTER of his rookie debut for the Nuggets is an eye-popping stat
