@spotlightfic Doublechecked and didn't find anything 🥹
I just sent my email address through the contact form on the website (I couldn't message via Twitter).
@spotlightfic I'm up for either - do you have a recommendation of which would be better?
I have book 5 in a series releasing on June 11th, and my birthday is July 29th, so both those timeframes would be fun ⭐ ⭐
I'm preparing the newsletter to go out soon. If you're a reader, be sure to sign up at the website link in this profile to receive monthly news in your inbox of a selection of the latest books and extras, including author interviews, reviews, or other features.
(newsletter sign-up is on the bottom of the homepage and book listing pages.)
Before it went woke!
@TheBabylonBee
"It seems he is reading this stuff and getting crazy ideas in his head about liberty and the government needing the consent of the governed. It's really dangerous stuff."
The Thomas Massie primary is truly insane. We are looking at the most expensive U.S. House primary in history, with spending pushing toward $35 million.
Massie's opponent, Ed Gallrein, has raised just $2 million on his own. The rest of the money, over $14 million, is coming from outside Super PACs who desperately want Massie gone.
On top of that, Pete Hegseth is being deployed to Kentucky to campaign against him. Stephen Miller & Con Inc. have been on massive Twitter tirades attacking him. And there was a highly coordinated smear campaign of unfounded allegations launched this week by Con Inc. influencers.
When the establishment is willing to spend $35M+ and go to these lengths to take one man down, it really makes you wonder why.
Whether you like Massie or not, this election will determine whether or not we as voters actually have a voice anymore. If outside special-interest money can successfully buy a seat and sway an election like this, we have a serious, serious problem.
The title introduces this supernatural mystery better than anything I can say - A Dragon, a Gargoyle, and a Faery Walk into a Pub by @DragonBeck!
A paperwork-obsessed dragon and a gargoyle with a snacking problem aren’t the most conventional detective team—but they get the job done. With a wizardly gadget or two, the help of their friends, and a few emergency snack runs, can the detectives crack the case before it turns deadly?

We spend so much time hyping:
- Authors who are already famous
- Covers that cost thousands
- Books with massive PR teams
Meanwhile, indie authors are out there writing absolute masterpieces with zero traction.
Give a "small" author a chance today. You might just find your new favorite world. 📚
I will be building the July indie author list early. The list consists of fifty authors and fifty titles. The book must be a standalone or the first in a series. A link and cover image is required. Both will be featured in my newsletter on July 1st.
So drop your book cover and its link in the comments.
Let's build the list!
Now that I've said something about Spotlight on Indie SFF, maybe I should introduce myself, the person behind this and why I've set up this site...
I have been an indie SFF author since a small press published my first book in 2008. In 2009, I started self-publishing and never looked back. In the 2011-2012 era, I was briefly a bestselling author on Amazon. I qualified for SFWA membership but discontinued after a few years.
I have a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration and have been a small business owner (still am with Spotlight on Indie). I currently am a part-time office manager and conference organizer for a small organization. I know how to manage the minutiae and put it all together!
I've loved SFF since I was a child (and saw the original Return of the Jedi in the theater when it was first released). Both my kids are big into SFF, which is no surprise since both myself and my husband are SFF lovers.
I am a Christian before all things, a horseperson of over forty years (and still going, although he's mostly a fat pasture-pet), a cat mom, tea lover (not coffee), and mom to two high school valedictorians (I have to brag a little in that amazing achievement).
I continue to write and, by the time I finish the last few books of my current series, will have written and published fifty books (mostly novels, but also some novellas and a couple of novelettes).
Spotlight on Indie SFF is the result of several years of wanting to do something for readers and writers of fiction to help with matching the right books to the right readers. I don't like certain things in books and have tired of DNFing books, so I developed a system of rating content to help readers find just what they want. I was able to make this vision a reality and opened Spotlight on Indie SFF with the help of an amazing professional website developer.
Spotlight on Indie SFF is like a storefront, not a marketing program. List your books with store links and provide readers with a way to discern what's right for them, which is the reason for my tagline, The Discerning Reader's Book Resource. I put in the money to make this happen and am making it free to list your books. I hope to build a catalog that readers can search to find exactly what they want and to host collective sales throughout the year.
I've seen writers here post that they despise marketers, but I'm not a marketer. Spotlight on Indie SFF is like a stripped down Bookbub for SFF at the moment, but I hope to add more features as I can afford to pay the website developer to add them.
Whether you're a self-published author or small press, I want to help you find your readers. I have more information on the Author page of the site for Authors and small publishers and another page for Readers.
Check it out and submit your book details. You have nothing to lose; but, together, we have much to gain!
