Actor/writer/director @andoh_adjoa is the voice behind our recent Live and Let Die audiobook. The Bridgeton star was interviewed in @thebookseller about the changing audio landscape, and we loved this quote...
'When you do an audiobook, you have to pour your heart into it. However many characters there are, you’re singing that many harmonies to a song. Then you have the narrator’s harmony, and whatever the narrative drive is – is it a thriller? Is it a romance? So, you have an orchestra in your head and you have to sing all the different parts.'

Today, 6th June, marks D-Day when Allied forces in WW2 launched the largest amphibious invasion in the history of warfare.
30AU, the Special Intelligence Assault Unit formed by Ian Fleming, were at the heart of the planning for the operation and they were given ‘Black Books’ of targets.
They were divided into three sections for the landing itself, but 'despite some minor successes, their main target, the radar station at Douvres proved to be much bigger and better defended than intelligence had led them to believe. It didn’t fall until the 17th June by which point the majority of the unit was operating with US troops in Brittany.'

I am very sad indeed to learn of the passing of Tony Head. When we were casting Little Britain, we were looking for a 'Tony Head-type', because we never imagined for a moment that the man himself would be interested, but he was. Lucky us. He was unfailingly brilliant, and always so kind and warm. My heart goes out to Daisy and Emily.
The James Bond Book Club 007: The Mask of Dimitrios by Eric Ambler.
Our 007th pick is a book that Bond himself is a fan of, having read it in From Russia, with Love.
Published in 1939, this is a classic spy fiction novel which helped to define the modern thriller, heavily influencing Ian Fleming as well as other writers such as John le Carré.
Join us in joining Charles Latimer, as he follows the trail of Dimitrios, the notorious master criminal whose body has just been pulled from the Bosphorus. Drawn in by a writer’s curiosity, Latimer begins tracing the man’s past across Europe only to discover that Dimitrios’ story is far from over, and far more dangerous than it first appeared.
We can’t wait to dig into The Mask of Dimitrios and explore the mark it left on Fleming’s work.
