@Grummz And it makes more sense for there to be a AI label, because otherwise you would have to retroactively change every single game on to have the human label.
@IvyfulWorld I sure love my physical game cards that I need an internet connection to use because it just a download key, which they can disable at any given time.
Those are not physical games, and don’t pretend for a second that they are.
We have a huge pivot underway here at Epic, moving developers around to retool for maximum AI acceleration.
The aim isn't to do the same stuff with fewer people, but to enable everyone here to build MORE and BETTER stuff, and to bring the benefits to all teams using Unreal.
@TimSweeneyEpic@a_apanasik You do realize that if AI is the future, no one is gonna need you or epic ever again, right? Why play your version of Fortnite if we can just make it ourself? But instead of a lot of IPs, we just have ALL the IPs.
I would fire myself and go live in the trees in some random forest and see how long I can play a real world survival game. (Assuming I have no other backup options. Maybe the local mall would take me. Idk, give me the shittiest position at mcdonalds)
Epic Games has internally delayed the release of a shooter game they’ve been developing featuring Star Wars & Marvel characters.
• Developers on the game have now been told to only use AI to write the code — “No more hand-written code”
• All art for the game would be “generated with full AI workflows”

@cinnagirliepop They are not losing anything after all. The customers just chose to buy mine instead. Coca cola doesn’t own the customers money yet, so technically not a loss for them.
@Pirat_Nation Don’t even get me started on how this whole shit is gonna be a cataclysm on the entire entertainment industry. It is gonna survive this hypothetical cataclysm, but
“oh, did you watch this new mov..”
“no, no, i fucking didn’t because there are 5754576577 new movies every day”
@Pirat_Nation Yes, trully amazing. Now, how exactly is that gonna impact the gaming market when anyone can freely make the game they want? Yuji Horii san, who’s gonna be left to buy your game if literally anyone can just make their own Dragon Quest in 30 minutes?
@cinnagirliepop Idk, I feel like I have the copyright to my own work even if it is public. No one can legally take that and sell it to others. Or nah? Is everything free game the moment it goes public?
@cinnagirliepop Idk, games are publicly available. Would I not be stealing if I pirated them? And would this mean I could download, mod, and then distribute those games to others? If no, what makes it different? Is it because I didn't sell it? Is it because I am not a corporation?
