@zomziekitten TBH it feels like SE is trying to feed the all the fandoms and leave things open ended to create debates and drama about the game… But I will try and keep my mind open…
My favorite part of the drama wasn’t any of the dramatic scenes. To me the plot with Zhang bin was a bit cliche. The quiet moments made the characters real. Daydreaming about life during difficulties, being quietly supportive of each other. 🫶🏻

@xinnnxinnnn I am all for green flag Chenyi. But the novel sort of made sense though. In the adaptation he parades around with her and the police all over town.
I liked the adaptation. There were a lot of holes in the plot… But I think the two leads did embodied the main characters quite nicely.
I was disappointed they didn’t adapt the hospital scene where she threatened him from the book though. 🥲

🥹 I can’t help but notice that the furniture in his room had suddenly changed in this scene. The dated single bed turned into a double with a proper side table. I am genuinely confused. 🤔

@yeyelong22 It’s an interesting change from the book. He is a chain smoker in the book but I think they are not allowed to promote smoking on TV? So it’s a lollipop to refer back to when they were small.
Just finished Ikoku Nikki. I loved the story so much. It’s so often a manga touches upon a serious plot and doesn’t over dramatize it. #ikokunikki#journalwithwitch
