It's October 1, 2019 and all amendments to the Construction Act are now in force. Contracts entered into after today that have not been procured earlier will be subject to prompt payment and interim adjudication provisions. The next year or so will be interesting. #MTConstruction

17 days to go. Changes include longer time to preserve liens: 60 days instead of 45. And, longer time to perfect liens: total 150 days instead of 90. #ConstructionAct #MTConstruction

22 days to go. If you are a sub or a supplier your contract may be governed by the current Construction Lien Act even if entered into after July 1 - it depends on when the head contract was procured and entered into. #ConstructionAct #MTConstruction

24 days to go. If you are a GC and are responding to a tender, RFP or RFQ issued before June 30, the contract you sign, even if it is after July 1, will be governed by the current Construction Lien Act. #ConstructionAct #MTConstruction

Only 26 days until the 1st set of Construction Act amendments are in force. Will they apply to you? Depends on when the "head contract" is signed. If before July 1, the existing Act governs, even if subcontracts are signed after July 1. #ConstructionAct #MTConstruction
