#Flashback Feb. 10th, 2000.
During that year's Prime Time Shootout, there was a big game put together between @RomanBasketball out of Philadelphia and Harlem's own Rice High School.
One thing that both programs had in common was the fact that they had two players heading to @SetonHallMBB in the late Eddie Griffin and @Dre_XII, both of whom were All-Americans.
Also playing in the @BIGEASTMBB were Omar Cook (@ctkroyals) and Kyle Cuffe (Rice), who were headed to @StJohnsBBall.
Great times were had on the high school scene.
Terrance "Munch" Williams has been providing insights and guiding the youth through the game for years.
With his new book, 'Here Are the Answers', he provides a full picture of the grassroots basketball scene, in front of and behind the curtain. https://t.co/aFvdNFEbdP

#Flashback Sept. 1999.
By the time that @Dre_XII reached his senior season at the now-defunct Rice High School in Harlem, he led the program to two @CHSAA_NYC championships & two @NYSFederation championships as a sophomore & junior.
He was one of the nation’s best point guards & played in the prestigious @adidasHoops ABCD Camp & played for the Bronx Ravens. At this time, he even garnered attention from even schools in the @accmbb, even @UNC_Basketball & @DukeMBB. But then in August of 1999, he would commit to @SetonHallMBB.
During his senior season (1999-2000), he was @SLAM_HS Diarist, as he detailed plenty of what was going on with him throughout the year.
He would go on to be selected as one of three New York City point guards alongside Omar Cook & Taliek Brown to play in the @McDAAG in Boston.
He then went on to play four spectacular seasons in the @BIGEASTMBB for the Pirates, scoring 1,861 career points & had over 600 career assists, while also leading Seton Hall to a @MarchMadnessMBB appearance as a senior in 2003-04, as they made it to the second round. For his outstanding play, he would win the 2004 Haggerty Award.
He would go on to play for six @NBA teams from 2005-08 & also played in the @nba D-League (now known as the @nbagleague) & played in various countries, such as 🇪🇸, 🇫🇷, 🇻🇪, 🇩🇴 & 🇦🇷.
After his retirement, he served in multiple roles in the @NBA & the @nbagleague. Today, he is a scout for the @BrooklynNets.
The Brooklyn Nets have hired Andre Barrett as a scout, league sources told @hoopshype. Barrett was a local star at Rice High School and Seton Hall University before playing four NBA seasons. He worked for the NBA for four years and was Director of Scouting for the G League Ignite
#Flashback May 30th, 1999.
As a high school junior, Bronx native and then-Rice High School guard @Dre_XII was being recruited by @UNC_Basketball while playing in the Bob Gibbons Tournament of Champions with the New York Ravens.
#Flashback Dec. 29th, 1999.
In the Glaxo Wellcome Invitational championship game at the Reynolds Coliseum in Raleigh, North Carolina, the Rice Raiders played a tough game against @DeMathaHoops, winning 74-65, becoming the fourth team from New York City to make the championship game and the first to ever win it. In this game, @Dre_XII would score 30 points. @KyleCuffeSr had 21 points & eight rebounds and Andre Sweet had 11 points & 12 rebounds in the game.
Side note: The Rice Raiders would win the Holiday Invitational championship again 10 years later, during the 2009-10 season.
