Fantastic show from the Dark-breasted Barn Owl at Bourne South Fen, Lincs, on view on and off all morning. Only 13 previous British records of this continental subspecies ('guttata') and the first I've seen @RareBirdAlertUK

[Shane @DreadedFlapper]

@IanDenton12 Hi Ian, this is one of our tagged birds.
Can you DM me some more details, to log the sighting please.

🤯

[Maarten Reyniers @mrtnrey]

[Shane @DreadedFlapper]

A stones throw from home and I missed it! 🤦🏻‍♂️

[Shane @DreadedFlapper]

@Skull_Bloke Intrigued by your method? Do you leave it like that for the whole process?
I’ve used maceration with good results. Also just cable tying them in a remote hedge.

[Shane @DreadedFlapper]

@AdamHartScience In my daughters school they have gone as far as putting time locked door handles on all toilets.
Only accessible during break/lunch times unless the teacher gives them a proximity card at their discretion.

[Shane @DreadedFlapper]

@ScarecrowNeste1 @adriawildlife Hybrid?

[Shane @DreadedFlapper]

@Wild_Barley @lee00barber @_BTO Guinea Fowl?

[Shane @DreadedFlapper]

@GethinJones123 Three’s a crowd.

A fitting tribute to Trevor's hard work and dedication at Squires Down.
A privilege to have been a small part of.
He would have been made up!

@mobweld Get that air pack on!

[Heikki Helle @HeikkiHelle]

The Curlew carrying a Finnish ring was ringed by me in June 2002 as a chick in Central Finland. At an age of 21+ years it is the oldest of my ringings. The Finnish record for a Curlew is 30 years, and this 21-year old places within the top10 oldest.

[Shane @DreadedFlapper]

@ianballam @BritishSpiders Wow, I’ve never seen a male.
I love the web repairs made by this female.
