@johnbalasz@USTechWorkers Honestly, its probably just easier to glaze over the nuance. But (2) is technically true. However, the language of the proclamation applies to all H1Bs entering the country.
@USTechWorkers Given the uncertainty with employees traveling internationally, this is enough for many legal departments to advise leadership not to hiring any H1Bs. Practically, however, applicants will need to renew their passport to renew their H1B, and that requires international travel.
@USTechWorkers FYI - if someone changes their status to an H1B in the US, then leaves the US, they would need to pay the $100K before they could re-enter per this proclamation
Russian Foreign Intelligence Service (SVR) Head Sergey Naryshkin threatened a Russian attack against NATO states in response to NATO states building up their defenses in line with US President Donald Trump's push for Europe to increase its defense capabilities.
Naryshkin appears to be claiming that European efforts to shoulder more of Europe's own defense requirements and to defend against future Russian aggression — in line with Trump's calls for such efforts — are allegedly provocative and escalatory.
@notlouisck Fair point. In any case, @notlouisck - to date, my favorite bit of yours is when you asked Donald Rumsfeld to his face if he is a lizard person. Truly incredible.
@LordsManor AI cities would be cool. But what I would genuinely love would be late game access to mercenaries. Unfortunately, it seems like all the merc groups are disbanded or snapped up by the AI by late game (so you are restricted to just milita and retinues).
