@siphodube@SongezoZibi QS certifies project costs as per the BOQ which would have been tendered. To sue the architect is just plain obvious the guy is just being crucified! I would sue the QS and Project manager before going to the architect.
By its very nature, civil service must attract the best brains. Those are policy implementors tasked with shaping the country's trajectory. In the private sector, we do not hire smart people and tell them what to do. We need the infusion of private sector ethos in civil service.
Unfortunately, you see this low self-esteem in many teams & departments. Many years of being spanked to do basic things like homework produces people that must be supervised to do their work. Heavily "prefected" systems don't yield much independent thought and creativity.
My mother is very democratic. We debate everything. She must persuade me. I don't take orders. This was always a challenge in Ugandan school and employment. We need to create a safe haven for independent thought & mistakes. Humans are not dogmatic robots that must be programmed.
Many of us grow up in systems that don't believe in us. Consequently, we not only lose self-belief but also tend to project this insecurity on others. When they appoint insiders, we say they are recycling old brooms. When they appoint outsiders, we say they don't have experience!
@OwenNkomo Chains build revolutions, one link at a time. We have ignored our own ppl for too long! Pple have been used and abused for votes with no return on investment (vote)! It’s sad that two provinces had to burn before civil society woke-up!
@TheMatundaMan It’s not gonna end well… killing the chicken that feeds you doesn’t solve the underlying problems in our society! It’s gonna take years to rebuild those businesses. It’s Jobs blood bath! 🤬🤬
@StephenGrootes@SAfmRadio It’s all that and more… it’s going to take years to rebuilt those malls. Years to get those jobs back! All politicians are silent. 🤷♂️
