Anyone else having issues with Odoo upgrade from Odoo. sh? We tried running a live upgrade this weekend and it has stalled for over 24 hours and the customers database is completely locked up with no way to cancel the upgrade request @Odoo@OdooStatus
@diogormcduarte Agreed, I think some of the basic interface changes are nice (like filters and/or operations), but the whole icon color changes are obnoxious. I find it way overwhelming and harder to find the modules you want.
@ray_odoo @RadovanSkolnik@Yenthe666 I agree with @Yenthe666 this is not a new problem @odoo support has sucked for years. The exponential growth just amplified the problem. The result? @odoo is getting a reputation for failed implementations and awful support. Something needs to change.
@johnny_longneck @Yenthe666 @ray_odoo @RadovanSkolnik@yenthe Unfortunately, we end up fixing bugs ourselves most of the time as our customers can't wait 4+ months for @odoo to get their act together. Submitting a ticket for help has become a joke. So much for enterprise support as part of your monthly fees.
@Odoo Wish it was never created, it only makes a mess of the system when uses dont know what they are doing and doesn't actually upgrade between versions
@rvalyi@Yenthe666 We looked at integrating https://t.co/cZGaaZfHQv into Odoo website for products, but ended up being more expensive then the customer thought worth it in the end. But they do have some cool tools depending on what you need.
@ggellatly Some of v16 coupons also do not handle sales tax correctly in the USA either. Waiting for Odoo to fix bugs is useless. You'll spend months proving that it is a bug and then they take 3+ months to fix it.
@odoo@fpodoo@Yenthe666 Anyone else having issues with v16 coupons and gift cards not calculating correctly with Sales Taxes? This order should be $0. Similar issue if a gift card is used.
@Yenthe666 Odoo studio causes more issues then helps in my opinion. Basic edits are nice and quick, but I try not to let customers use it directly as they make a mess of it every time.
@legalsylvain @alexisdlattre To clarify I'm talking about pydriver. Your solution with ip printer is cool, but very limited. You have to have that exact printer and display. Also, what happens when the pos and the printer can't be on the same network. Like trade shows or pop-up shops running on multiple wifi
@legalsylvain @alexisdlattre Also what about a full customer display through an hdmi when using a tablet. Or to handle legacy hardware. I still think this project is still a very viable solution for a lot of uses. This same technology can also be used for unattended kiosks or customer input. Uses abound.
@ggellatly@GoranKliska We recommend to our customers to set Product Categories based on Accounting needs first, then reporting, as you can always tag products and analytic accounts for enhanced reporting...
@Odoo I have tested this and it is a cool feature. My only concern is users are going to inadvertently change things. I think that still requiring you to hit save when leaving a record or having a popup to notify and request saving changes might be a safer ideal.
@Yenthe666 On the flip side, I do get like 60% of my customers because they can't get good help from Odoo. It is just sad, because several customer almost left Odoo and went elsewhere due to bad support. Luckily our team convinced them to stay and now we support them.
@Yenthe666 It is really frustrating! The worst part is most of the consultants have no idea what they are doing to begin with. I have to first prove to them how the system actually works before we can get to fixing the issue.
