Walking the yard, I stand tall
A C/O from East LA, hear my call
Torn between 2,worlds, I know
My gente in chains, their spirits low
I know the game, I've seen it all
As a guard, I must stand tall
But my heart aches for those inside
Whose dreams are lost, their hopes denied
I see clearly how Chicanos turn
Ten cents to twenty-five, Watcha
One vato drops a dime, it's true
He turns in to a peseta, anew
Fifty cents, two vatos now
Otro drops a dime, they take a bow
The system profits, but at what cost? The lives of those who have been lost
East LA Chicano prison game
I see the pain, I know the game
Behind these walls, life is hard
Yet hope and love remain the same #ELA#Chicano#Raza#Poem#Poet#foryourpage
Paleteros !
Pushing carts with treats so sweet,
Paleteros roam the East LA streets,
From mango to coconut, paletas galore,
Cooling off the barrio like never before.#ELA#Chicano#raza
Chrome and metal, polished to shine,
Low riders cruising down Whittier Boulevard's line,
Hydraulics bouncing, music blasting,
In East LA, low riders keep the culture everlasting. #Chicano#poem#raza
From Mariachi Plaza to the Salazar Park,
Our culture and heritage leave a lasting mark, With taquitos, churros, and raspados in hand,We celebrate our roots, our music, our land. #Raza#Poet#pain#Chicano
East LA Chicano pride runs deep,
Rooted in our history and culture we keep, From Olvera Street to Montebello ,
Our traditions shine bright like city lights. #ELA#Poem#Chicano#raza
In East LA, the raza's heart beats strong,
From Whittier Boulevard, to Mariachi Plaza's song.
The Chicano culture, forever prevails,
Through struggles and triumphs, never to derail. #Chicano#Poet#Poem#ELA
Amidst the chaos and noise of the Ad Seg yard,
As a prison guard in solitary, I reflect hard.
I wonder about the inmates and what they feel,
And how I can better serve and help them heal. #poem#ChicanoPoem # EastLA
In Pelican Bay's SHU, I sit and wait,
A Chicano from East LA, with a story to relate.
Fighting inmates from up North, with no end in sight,
But my spirit remains strong, and my will to fight.
The walls are cold, and the days are long,
But I'm determined to stay.
