No, a ceasefire has never truly been more than a name without meaning…
In Gaza, lives are still being taken, and children are still carried on shoulders instead of carrying their dreams.
More than one hundred children have been killed, despite all the talk of a so-called truce… as if words are spoken to obscure the truth, not to protect it.
Here, the question is no longer whether there is commitment, but when there ever was any.
It is a long history of broken promises and agreements signed only to be crushed under the weight of bombardment,
until it has become painfully clear that people are asked to believe in something they have never seen realized.
In Gaza, the truth is as visible as the smoke:
what is called a ceasefire does not stop the bleeding,
and what is called peace does not protect a child.
There, it is not only patience that is being tested… but the humanity of the entire world.
