@FrostzMonkey@2099gaming Because a digital copy gives them more revenue than a physical one. You're basically content to pay up to 50% more for the same game and have nothing in return
@gizlonk@KnealKp@ivvanex@PlayStation Ok, I get. You are for real a Linux genius. Steam has not made the gabe cube because consoles are so much better, but because they want to join the competition and have a gaming rig in the living room. As much as I like steam though, the cube is not worth the money
@Monsignor_Pipi@oliver_drk If steam goes down you can certainly play the games you have installed on your PC. If you download the files of the games on an SSD you can certainly play them. Steam is just a shortcut launcher, not an interface that controls everything you do.
@gizlonk@KnealKp@ivvanex@PlayStation A certified Linux genius here and state that a console is better than a PC. You need to take into consideration what kind of specs your PC has. You can only watch movies and play original games with a console. Tell me again how is it better than a PC?
@Monsignor_Pipi@oliver_drk And also you have many other stores you can buy games from and add them to steam, unlike Sony, which will have a complete monopoly over their games and prices
@Monsignor_Pipi@oliver_drk That is not true, if you lose your steam account, their customer support will give it back to you in less than an hour and hand you over the hacker to do as you please with. Besides, you can burn your own physical media with steam.
@Monsignor_Pipi@oliver_drk But you cannot compare steam with Sony, let's be honest. As for the used market, I know it has no impact on their books, and that's what bothers them. They want to be the sole supplier and all the money to go through them, and this doesn't sit well with me.
@swissch33z@TheDezembro I, on the other hand, cannot understand why people have multiple games installed. I focus on one game at a time, play it, finish and get the platinum and uninstall. There's no reason to just sit there and take space. Chances are, you won't replay that game for a while
@Monsignor_Pipi@oliver_drk But with physical you have more money exchanging hands, but it has little to do with Sony. Ok, they might not dictate the price, but you will never have used games with digital. And if somehow you lose your account, all your library goes with it
@Monsignor_Pipi@oliver_drk And if I'm alone in this one, so be it. I'm not changing my morals just because I'm being forced to consume digital media. I survived without a PlayStation until 2018, I will survive without one from now on
@Monsignor_Pipi@oliver_drk You can find better deals with physical games. And speaking for myself, I have never bought a single digital game. Astro bot came pre installed with my PS5, and that's the only digital game I have. And I'm pretty sure there's many people out there just like me
@HlNOMARUSUMO Calling people who want to own a physical collection disc diddlers is crazy. You are paying more than us for the same games just to rent them
