CMU Athletics is saddened about the passing of two pillars of the Central Michigan University community, Ron and Jean Zyzelewski. Ron was a 1973 graduate of CMU’s College of Science and Engineering. He and his wife, Jean, were beloved members of the CMU Athletics family, cherished by administrators, coaches, staff, student-athletes and so many more. Ron and Jean were one of the most philanthropic and supportive couples to support CMU and CMU Athletics, having made a leadership gift to the Chippewa Champions Center and naming the Director of Athletics position. The Zyzelewskis were warm, friendly and always quick with a smile, and CMU Athletics wishes to honor them with a moment of silence at our Gymnastics, Women’s and Men’s Basketball home events this weekend.
