Why Fundraisers Are Undervalued:
Fundraisers often operate behind the scenes, yet Chris Gabriel argues they embody some of the most critical skills any organization needs. From emotional intelligence to strategic thinking, their role goes far beyond simply raising money.
They are connectors of vision and impact, helping translate generosity into real-world change. Despite this, their contribution is often underestimated, even though they play a central role in building stronger communities.

Most people don't know these 10 habits could add YEARS to their life. 👇
Science says aging is changing fast. And the people who thrive won't be lucky. They'll be prepared.
***Here are a few habits that matter most:
Sleep at least 6.5 hours every night
Walk 10,000 steps a day
Eat more fish and less red meat
Floss your teeth daily (yes, really!)
Use a sauna a few times a week
Manage stress — your reaction to it is what causes damage
The best part? You don't need to do all 10 at once. Start with one. Build from there.

Turning Volunteers Into Lifelong Advocates:
Managing volunteers isn’t easy—Adam Faitek even compares it to “herding cats.” But when done right, it becomes one of the most powerful growth engines for any nonprofit.
The key insight? Volunteers don’t just want to help once—they want to keep helping. But that only happens when organizations invest in real infrastructure, create meaningful opportunities, and proactively engage people. When volunteers feel connected, they don’t just show up—they become long-term supporters, donors, and champions of the mission.
Adam shares a powerful example: a corporate partner that started with a small contribution and, over time, grew into a $200,000 annual donor. That transformation didn’t happen by accident—it was built through years of intentional engagement and relationship-building.
The takeaway is clear: organizations that invest in volunteers don’t just expand their reach—they multiply their impact. And for donors, those are often the organizations that deliver the greatest return on every dollar.

From Local Impact to National Mission: Saying Yes to Every Family:
What does it take to scale compassion?
Adam Faitek lays out an ambitious vision for Pinky Swear Foundation: saying yes to every family facing childhood cancer. With nearly 15,000 families impacted each year in the U.S. and only a fraction currently served, the mission is clear—close the gap and meet the need at a national level.
But scaling impact isn’t just about growth. It’s about building systems that can replicate success, connecting with donors across the country, and staying true to the mission at every step. For Adam and his team, it’s not a question of if they’ll get there—it’s when.

Leading a Mission Bigger Than Yourself
Stepping into leadership is one thing. Leading a mission rooted in sacrifice and legacy is something entirely different.
Adam Faitek shares what it means to take the reins at Pinky Swear Foundation—an organization born from a child’s promise to help other families facing cancer. That promise, made by Mitch during his own battle, continues to guide every decision. For Adam, leadership isn’t just strategy—it’s responsibility to honor something deeply human and profoundly meaningful.
Every day is a reminder that the work matters. It’s about showing up for families in their hardest moments and carrying forward a legacy that started with compassion. Leadership, in this context, isn’t about authority—it’s about stewardship.

Why Storytelling Beats ROI in Fundraising
Fundraising isn’t just about numbers—it’s about connection. In this clip, Adam Faitek shares a powerful insight: even the most analytical donors ultimately give because they feel something, not just because the numbers make sense.
One major donor, initially driven by financial logic, made a transformational gift only after forming a personal relationship with someone impacted by the organization. That emotional connection—not the spreadsheet—made the difference. Data may open the door, but storytelling is what inspires people to walk through it.

The First Question to Ask Every Donor!
When Matt Sheffield meets a donor, he doesn’t start with the ask. He starts with a question: “Where are you from?” That simple conversation opener leads to something much more important—understanding the person behind the gift.
By learning where donors come from, what they care about, and what experiences have shaped them, fundraisers can build relationships that last far beyond a single contribution. Sustained giving comes from genuine connection, remembering the details that matter to people, and showing real interest in their lives and families.
Those conversations also open the door to generational engagement. When families see the mission come to life through relationships, they’re more likely to pass that commitment forward—turning a single donor into a legacy of support.

Reflection: When difficult conversations become emotional, do I stay focused on what I truly want—or do I drift toward winning, protecting myself, or proving I’m right?
Action: During my next difficult conversation, pause and ask myself: “What do I really want—for myself, for the other person, and for the relationship?”

A few months back, I published this guide on how to remember everything you read.
Re-sharing it here for anyone who finds these protocols useful.
(1/11)
Most people are exhausted and don't know why.
Here is what no one tells you.
Your actions are not matching your values.
That one mismatch drains everything.
Your motivation. Your energy. Your willpower.
Research proves this clearly.
When actions align with values, impossible things become possible.
Even through depression, grief, or pain.
So what is a value exactly?
It is not a goal you can achieve.
It is how you choose to live.
"Goals come and go. Values stay with you."
Here are examples of real values:
Never stop learning.
Be the best parent possible.
Challenge your physical limits daily.
Be a loving, caring friend.
Serve others and your faith.
Explore the world and its cultures.
Do work that truly matters.
Now here is how to find yours.
Look at these 12 areas of life:
1. Marriage or romantic partnership
2. Parenting
3. Family relationships
4. Friends and social life
5. Work and career
6. Education and learning
7. Recreation and fun
8. Spirituality or religion
9. Community and volunteering
10. Physical health and self-care
11. The environment
12. Art, music, writing, beauty
Imagine you have 3 extra hours daily.
Which 3 areas would you pour them into?
Those 3 areas are your first values.
Now here comes the powerful part.
Once you know your value, create a quest.
A quest is a tiny, purposeful action.
Something so small you cannot say no.
Done in the next 24 hours.
Here are real examples from real people:
Value: Show family love daily.
Quest: Leave a note under your daughter's pillow.
Value: Never stop learning.
Quest: Ask friends to share one great article.
Value: Honor your faith.
Quest: Pray for just one minute.
Value: Be a strong athlete.
Quest: Run one mile as fast as possible.
That is it. Small. Simple. Powerful.
You do not need to start something new.
Even an old habit becomes a quest.
Label it. Own it. Feel the purpose.
"Even if you've neglected a value for years,
right now you can choose to act on it."
That is the secret to motivation.
Not big resolutions. Not perfect plans.
Just one tiny action, rooted in what matters.
Try it today.
Pick one value.
Design one small quest.
Complete it in the next 24 hours.
Your better life starts in one minute.

Authentic Fundraising Starts With the Mission:
Matt Sheffield believes authentic fundraising begins with integrity and a real connection to the people your organization serves. At Mosaic, that means going beyond strategy meetings and spreadsheets. When team members feel disconnected from the mission, the answer is simple: spend time with the people whose lives are impacted by the work.
Matt calls this a “passion retread.” When you meet the individuals your organization supports, hear their stories, and experience their joy and resilience firsthand, the mission becomes real again. That connection fuels the authenticity donors feel and reminds fundraisers why the work matters.

Most people set goals the wrong way. Especially when life gets hard.
There are 3 types of goals. Most people only know 1.
Dennis was 66, about to retire, and completely frozen with fear.
40 years of purpose… gone overnight.
Then he discovered one simple shift that changed everything.
It's not about working harder.
It's not about "just doing your best."
It's about something most people never try — and it works even when the stakes are high.
