@BalurCDN@EricaMiley @nagoyabeteri @anilbazigar9078@facebookapp Demand for their services. The senate hearings could result in sanctions against Facebook. Take some time to Google what's going on.
@EricaMiley @nagoyabeteri @anilbazigar9078@facebookapp Supply and demand. Do you really want to come after us when so much of the world relies on our services? Look what happens when we aren't here. Pretty easy sell too.
@hieinh@crimzon8numbers@PhelpsCaweybear Yup, a wide scale outage shows a wide scale impact. People can't access Facebook login driven apps, can't access various apps and devices. Shut the world down for a bit and demonstrate how important they are.
@consciousnessev @BalurCDN@EricaMiley @nagoyabeteri @anilbazigar9078@facebookapp Let's assume that's applicable, you tell the AI to disable the DNS record. No different than telling your network admin to do it, right?
@BalurCDN@EricaMiley @nagoyabeteri @anilbazigar9078@facebookapp I've been in IT for a decade. Sure, mistakes happen, but a company this size and scope having this issue the day before a senate hearing? It's suspicious is all I'm saying.
@EricaMiley@BalurCDN @nagoyabeteri @anilbazigar9078@facebookapp Many of us work in IT. There's certainly cause for questioning the timing of this. It's very easy to say whoops and then use it as an argument to justify value. I bet this gets brought up to the senate.
@EricaMiley@BalurCDN @nagoyabeteri @anilbazigar9078@facebookapp Yes, it's easily done. But what about their fail over DNS? To wipe the record from the net and not have fail over is also suspicious.
@BalurCDN@EricaMiley @nagoyabeteri @anilbazigar9078@facebookapp Look up DNS practices. A company the size of Facebook would have fail over DNS configured. So where's the fail over? That's sus AF.
@BalurCDN@EricaMiley @nagoyabeteri @anilbazigar9078@facebookapp When that single country can shut them down? Of course they would. There's a senate hearing tomorrow to address Facebook's practices. Also, taking all the DNS down would take a lot of work, redundancies exist for a reason.
@crimzon8numbers@PhelpsCaweybear There's a hearing tomorrow regarding Facebook practices and a big story over the weekend about a whistle blower and Facebook saying they are integral. This is one heck of a coincidence.
