Weekly preaching feels a bit like building a sand castle. You work and work on it all week, then the Sunday wave rolls in and you start all over on Monday morning. I don’t know whether to smile or cry🙂😭

Please pray for your pastors and ministry leaders. We've never led during a global pandemic, divisive, ugly, political tribalism, racial unrest, strategic disinformation campaigns, conspiracy theories, or online church services. This is not to mention normal spiritual warfare. 🙏🏿
Church is messy, flawed, disappointing and at times deeply hurtful, largely because people are messy, flawed, disappointing and at times deeply hurtful.
When I was an atheist I couldn’t imagine what kind of evidence there could be for God. I wondered what it would mean for the natural universe if there actually was a God. And to my shock I soon realized that all the science I knew was evidence for God.
People will leave a church over politics before they will leave politics for a church.
1.5 hours on Sunday vs. 20 hours a week feeding on cable news and its political partisans ranting, is shaping a lot of people's theology for the worse.
