.@jamestalarico: I've had a lot of interviews with national media. No one's ever asked me about the cost of housing. No one's asked me about the cost of prescription drugs. The only thing the media wants to ask me about are trans athletes.
The only minority destroying this country is the billionaires. Trans people are 1% of the population. Undocumented people are 1% of the population. We are all focused on the wrong 1%.
Trans people aren't taking away our healthcare. Undocumented people aren't defunding our schools. It's the billionaires and their puppet politicians.
BREAKING: Analysts are calling this the biggest protest in American history. It’s far bigger than any rally Donald Trump has ever had. This is Boston. Rallies just like this are happening in cities big and small all around the country. Let’s go.
Trump: “Get out and vote just this time. You won't have to do it anymore. Four more years it will be fixed. It'll be fine. You won't have to vote anymore...In four years you don't have to vote again. We'll have it fixed so good your not gonna have to vote.”
I am thrilled to share the first issue of a new open access online journal: Turning Toward Being: The Journal of Ontological Inquiry in Education https://t.co/8SNbvIyJ5J
It’s not only that the Republicans were wrong about Ukraine and Russia, but just how breathtakingly wrong they have been in the face of undeniable evidence.
They bought and then sold Kremlin propaganda hook, line, and sinker.
They fought against American and western interests, eschewed the analysis of our military experts and rooted for Ukraine’s downfall.
Meanwhile, President Biden formed an international pro-democracy coalition and never wavered in his support of Ukraine. And for pennies on the dollar, he has weakened one of our greatest foreign adversaries, perhaps beyond repair, without putting at risk the life of a single American.
It’s been an absolutely historic stroke of strategic brilliance.
And while Republicans try to weaponize Kremlin propaganda to attack Biden as a war monger, they neglect the fact that he is overseeing a extraordinary time of peace for the United States. He dared to do what no other president before him was willing to do and brought our troops home from Afghanistan.
Republicans also used Kremlin propaganda to accuse Biden of neglecting our needs at home, while he gave aid to Ukraine. Meanwhile, the GOP voted against Biden’s historic investments in the US. Transformational change is underway with the passage of the CHIPs Act, the Infrastructure Act and the Inflation Reduction Act. Experts are calling this “manufacturing investment supercycle” the envy of the world.
Biden protected our veterans’ healthcare with the PACT Act as Republicans fist-bumped after voting against it.
Biden fought and continues to fight for women’s bodily autonomy, while the GOP celebrates stripping it away one year ago.
And Biden delivered for unions workers, aiding them in negotiations as he kept the supply chain open and the American economy thriving, delivering six times more jobs than the previous three Republican presidents combined.
All this, and Republicans still want to reject reality. They want to use Kremlin-style disinformation techniques and launch politically-motivated investigations into their perceived enemies. They have no interest in helping the American people. They just want to live another day on their cult leader Donald Trump’s good side. They strive to dismantle American democracy and take away the rights and freedoms of everyday Americans.
This contrast in leadership could not be greater. History will judge where you stood at this moment.
We stand with the United States. We stand with democracy. We stand with reality. We stand with the free world.
Roddie Edmonds was a Master Sergeant in the United States Army. In late 1944, Edmonds was captured in the Battle of the Bulge and held at a German POW camp. In January 1945, the Nazis ordered all Jewish-American POWs to step forward. Edmonds, the highest-ranking noncommissioned officer at the camp, ordered all 1,000 US soldiers to step forward, regardless of their religion.
A German commander demanded that Edmonds identify the Jewish soldiers. Edmonds replied, "We are all Jews here." The commander threatened to shoot him if he did not comply. Edmonds refused, saying, "If you shoot, you'll have to shoot us all." The commander backed down.
Edmonds' actions are credited with saving the lives of 200 Jewish soldiers. In 2015, he was posthumously named Righteous Among the Nations by Yad Vashem and was the first American soldier to receive the honor.
Edmonds' story is a reminder of the courage and compassion of those who stood up to the Nazis during World War II. He is a true hero, and his legacy will never be forgotten.
When I give my word to another, it creates various conditions of “counting on” or “reliance on”, in the relationship between me & the other. Given that one’s word creates the relationship, when one’s word is whole & complete, the relationship it creates is whole & complete
