Beno (@famicom83), Mario, and I are honored by this recognition and we are very grateful to the Canadian Journal of Economics @CanJEcon for publishing many excellent trade papers over the years. @DrexelEconomics@LeBow
Earlier this month, Fitch Ratings downgraded the U.S. credit rating from AAA to AA+.
Dr. Marco Airaudo, a professor of economics at Drexel University’s Lebow College of Business, breaks down what that means for businesses and consumers.

I am very grateful to the Canadian Journal of Economics @CanJEcon for publishing so many excellent trade papers over the years, and it is great that the paper with my amazing colleague Maria Olivero is among the journal's most-cited articles. @DrexelEconomics@LeBow
I am humbled and honored by this recognition, which should be shared with my amazing co-authors Anderson, Beverelli, @famicom83, Keck, Larch, @RobiPiermartini, @JoschkaWanner, and @TomZylkin for promoting the use of domestic flows for gravity estimations in trade and beyond.
Thanks @CEP_WEAI for this recognition, which should be shared with many co-authors! It is great to see that many gravity estimations now use domestic trade flows and that this idea is applied beyond trade. The profession has also made big steps on the corresponding data front.
Conference! My coauthors and I are organizing a workshop on the economics of free trade agreements at the University of Surrey in lovely Guildford, UK this July 4th.
Submission deadline May 12th. Early career researchers encouraged. Funding for travel!
It's officially official! I am thrilled to announce that I will be joining the amazing group at @Miami_Econ as an assistant professor this fall! I have so many people to thank over the coming weeks and months but for now I just can't wait to get started!
Three implications of our model & findings include: (i) an explanation for the evolution over time of FTA estimates in gravity models; (ii) an explanation for small tariff estimates in gravity models; and that (iii) the long run in our sample is reached in 16-17 years.

There have been some doubts on whether GATT and WTO promoted international trade. There should not be!
The effects of GATT and WTO on trade are real and they're spectacular!

Findings from the Global Sanctions Data Base, which provides in-depth coverage of 1,101 sanction cases from 1950-2019, documents an increasing use of ‘smart sanctions’, & the role of the US as major driver of sanctions
