@tomdoorley @tcddublin I’ve begun to agree with Hector Ó hEochagáin who thinks that Irish in Schools needs to be divided into two subjects. Conversational and literary Irish. Everyone should do conversational Irish until Junior cert with an emphasis on communication. Literary Irish for those able

@Conac02 Americans get blamed for this but I think it’s down to their pronunciation of Patty with a hard ‘t’ so that’s how they started hearing our Paddy’s Day. Just an honest mistake, I believe.

Eldest daughter and I went to see Eureka Day yesterday at @GateTheatreDub and it was just the BEST afternoon. Laughed till we cried, then had a gorgeous dinner and I headed back to Mayo on the train. Still a couple of weeks left, can’t recommend it highly enough.
