The traveling exhibition “David C. Driskell & Friends: Creativity, Collaboration, and Friendship” is now on view through December 21, 2023 at UCR Arts in Riverside California. “David C. Driskell and Friends: Creativity, Collaboration, and Friendship” highlights
Romare Bearden, Keith Morrison, Jacob Lawrence, and many more. Original works of art created by Driskell are also featured, as well as ephemera from the Driskell Papers that exemplify the artists’ unique friendships.
Exciting renovations have been happening at the Driskell Center this summer, and shall continue into part of the fall! We wanted to give you a sneak peek into what’s going on: the last two days we’ve been having shelving installed for our new and upgraded library space!
The Driskell Center has an extensive reference library collection on African and African American art history and it shall now be housed in a new space with better shelving, spaces for researchers, and room for the collection to grow!
