The Ministry of Minority Affairs inaugurated the commemoration of 150 Years of “Vande Mataram”, India’s National Song that continues to unite hearts and inspire Indians.
Hon’ble Minister Shri Kiren Rijiju, Hon’ble MoS Shri George Kurian, Secretary, Ministry of Minority Affairs, Dr. Chandra Shekhar Kumar; Chairperson, Delhi Haj Committee, Smt. Kausar Jahan; DSGMC Secretary Shri Shri Jasmain Singh Noni; Lama Chosphel Zotpa, Ex-Vice Chairman, National Commission for SCs & STs & Fr. Abin Xavier, Vicar of Infant Jesus Church, Palam and officials of the Ministry joined the event that marked a collective tribute to our nation’s spirit of unity and pride.

अल्पसंख्यक कार्य मंत्रालय में 14 सितंबर को हिंदी दिवस समारोह के आयोजन के साथ ही हिंदी पखवाड़े का शुभारंभ हुआ। समारोह में संयुक्त सचिव श्री शेरशा सी. शेख मोहिद्दीन ने हिंदी पखवाड़े का औपचारिक उद्घाटन किया एवं संबोधन दिया। इसके उपरांत संयुक्त सचिव श्री राम सिंह ने भारत सरकार के कैबिनेट सचिव डॉ. टी.वी. सोमनाथन का हिंदी संदेश पढ़ा।
इस अवसर पर उप महानिदेशक श्री आलोक कुमार वर्मा ने हिंदी दिवस 2025 के उपलक्ष्य में माननीय गृह मंत्री जी का संदेश प्रस्तुत किया।
कार्यक्रम में मंत्रालय के अधिकारी एवं कर्मचारी उत्साहपूर्वक शामिल हुए।

The Ministry of Minority Affairs organised the National Conclave of Hon’ble Ministers of States/UTs for Minority Welfare at Vanijya Bhawan, New Delhi, today.
Chaired by Hon’ble Union Minister Shri Kiren Rijiju, in the presence of Hon’ble Minister of State Shri George Kurian and Secretary, MoMA, Dr. Chandra Shekhar Kumar. The conclave witnessed participation of Ministers from States and Secretaries from 21 States/UTs, who shared inputs to strengthen the implementation of welfare schemes for minority communities.
Deliberations also focused on IGoM reforms across legislative, policy, institutional and process frameworks. Shri Kiren Rijiju emphasised that the suggestions from representatives were vital in preparing a reform roadmap aimed at the growth and welfare of minority communities.

A zonal review meeting was chaired by Secretary, Ministry of Minority Affairs, Dr. Chandra Shekhar Kumar today in Guwahati. The meeting brought together representatives of five State Waqf Boards along with State Government officials to discuss key issues, including uploading of existing Waqf details on the UMEED Central Portal 2025, deliberations on IIT’s recommendations for strengthening the functioning of Waqf Boards, and a review of action taken reports on the Scholarship Division’s DO letters.
Representatives from the Waqf Boards of Assam, Manipur, Meghalaya, Tripura, and West Bengal participated in the meeting. Officials from the Ministry also undertook a detailed review during the session.
