@AAPresident @the_police_fdn Wouldn’t it be more apt to do a report called Britain’s Killer Drivers? With proper training and continuous testing of drivers, I’d like to think we would take more responsibility behind the wheel. Disappointed there’s no mention of driver training in the report @DrivingElaine
@LikeEngineer @AAPresident Driver training and compulsory re-testing might address the ‘accident’ rate. Disappointed no mention of this on Panorama tonight #safedrivingforlife@DrivingElaine
Know your signs and signals⚠️🛑
Not responding correctly to traffic signs and lights are in the top 10 reasons why learners fail their driving test.
Swot up on the signs and signals outlined in the Highway Code before you take your test 📖

Update: #M5 northbound between J26 (near #Wellington) to J25 (#Taunton) - There is lots of barrier damage and an overturned LGV. We're currently in the process of releasing trapped traffic. If you're in the traffic, please bear with us, we'll get to you as soon as we can. Thanks
Unless the government’s coronavirus data for England prevents the easing of restrictions as part of step 1 of the roadmap, we intend that from 29 March 2021 in England you can take:
✅a CBT
✅motorcycle lessons with instructors
✅a bus driving lesson and test
✅a tractor test
Need to drive your children back to school on Monday? 👩👧👦
If your car’s not been moving for a while, your tyres can lose air and deteriorate. 💨
Dust off your car’s manual and check them this weekend.
In line with the government’s roadmap announcement, driving and theory tests will resume no earlier than 12 April 🚗💻
DVSA is working closely with the government and will provide more information as soon as we are able to do so on other tests, lessons and training.
🚗Private practice for England🚗
Government guidance is very clear - people should stay at home to save lives and protect the NHS unless the trip is essential.
❌A journey solely for driver learning purposes is not considered essential.

@hannahwithers12@hannahwithers12 Hi Hannah, critical worker tests are not currently available but we are keeping this under review. We will announce this if things change.
Heading out in your car and noticing that the evenings are getting darker?
Remember to always look out for other road users as you travel #TravelSafely 🌃 🚴♀️ 🚶♂️ 🛴
Unfortunately the practical driving test system is taking longer than planned to clear the backlog. Those wanting to book tests are still not able to as the DVSA struggles to clear the test bookings postponed due to the pandemic. 😢 Lots of time then to really prepare for it 😊
Over 210,000 driving tests were put on hold due to COVID-19.
So far, we've invited over 84,000 people to reschedule. It could take several weeks for you to get your email.
We can’t tell you when you'll get your email - please avoid calling us. Thanks for your patience.
DVSA has announced that all driving tests that had been rescheduled due to the COVID-19 outbreak are cancelled. DVSA also said that only key worker driver training should take place at this time #drivingtest

Every council across the U.K. should aspire to this - it’s beautiful and productive and what people want from a new normal for wildlife and the environment . Top work Musselburgh !
HGV drivers are working hard keeping the country supplied and fed during these tough times #TransportHeroes 🏆
🚗🚲As more cars, pedestrians and cyclists start to return to our roads, it’s even more important to stay safe.
@Tony_Diver We've not shared any dates for a possible re-start of driver testing.
We'll continue to work closely with driving instructor associations on how and when we can resume driving tests and lessons.
We will provide further information as soon as we can.
Keep an eye out for cyclists & bikers out enjoying a ride in the Sun. Make sure to check blind spots and take particular care when entering and exiting junctions! #RoadSafety
