BREAKING: For the first time a journalist has reportedly told Donald Trump on a phone call, “Every single claim you have made about this war has been proven a lie within hours, and I will not be publishing anything you’ve told me today.”
A Georgia couple who terrorized a Black family at a child’s birthday party with Confederate flags, racial slurs, guns, and death threats were sentenced for a hate crime. Joe Torres got 20 years; Kyla Norton got 15..😳🚨
It was great talking to Stephen and the inspiring young people we’ve worked with at the @ObamaFoundation on the @ColbertLateShow.
When the Obama Presidential Center opens this June 19, my hope is that this will be a place where people can come together to meet, learn, and work with each other to create change in their communities. Learn more at https://t.co/ahkDMKalIn.
Today’s Supreme Court decision effectively guts a key pillar of the Voting Rights Act, freeing state legislatures to gerrymander legislative districts to systematically dilute and weaken the voting power of racial minorities - so long as they do it under the guise of “partisanship” rather than explicit “racial bias.” And it serves as just one more example of how a majority of the current Court seems intent on abandoning its vital role in ensuring equal participation in our democracy and protecting the rights of minority groups against majority overreach.
The good news is that such setbacks can be overcome. But that will only happen if citizens across the country who cherish our democratic ideals continue to mobilize and vote in record numbers - not just in the upcoming midterms or in high profile races, but in every election and every level.
TWEEPS: This is it, Virginia.

People ask me how I won as a Democrat in a deep-red state. The answer is simple: Instead of talking at people, I talk with them. And I deliver results that matter. Good jobs, safe roads, health care – these are the things Americans care about. It's time we focused on them.
@JDVance The SAVE America Act makes it harder for everyone to vote. It takes mail-in ballots away, and it makes Women jump through hoops. There is no massive fraud in elections and undocumented immigrants are not voting in national elections.
The United States’ first Black president received several standing ovations from the crowd, who began to shout “four more years” when he took the stage at the House of Hope church.
“No, see, I believe in the Constitution,” he said, drawing a barrage of cheers.
Obama honored Jackson and his legacy in a lengthy speech, but didn’t forget to acknowledge the highly charged political environment under Trump.
“It may be tempting to get discouraged, to give in to cynicism. It may be tempting for some to compromise with power, and grab what you can, or even for good people to maybe just put your head down and wait for the storm to pass,” the former president said. “But this man, Rev. Jesse Louis Jackson, inspires us to take a harder path.”
“Every day you wake up to things you just didn’t think were possible,” he said. “Each day, we’re told by those in high office to fear each other and to turn on each other, and that some Americans count more than others, and that some don’t even count at all.”
“Everywhere we see greed and bigotry being celebrated, and bullying and mockery masquerading as strength. We see science and expertise denigrated, while ignorance and dishonesty and cruelty and corruption are reaping untold rewards,” he continued as the crowd applauded.
Obama said Jackson’s life should serve as an inspiration to “take a harder path.”

Seeing all 3 Former Presidents, VP Harris and Former First Lady Jill Biden, in place to honor Reverend Jesse Jackson Sr. gave me a Glimpse of what this country used to stand for.
Honor, Respect, Dignity!
BREAKING: At Jesse Jackson’s celebration of life, @BarackObama just torched Donald Trump’s America.
“Each day we wake up to some new assault to our democratic institutions — another setback to the idea of the rule of law. An offense to common decency. Every day you wake up to it. To things you didn’t think were possible.”
I miss this guy!
Black History Month is a time to recognize the lived, shared experience of all Black folks who have fundamentally shaped, challenged, and ultimately strengthened America. It’s about taking an unvarnished look at the past so that we can create a better future. As we mark 100 years of celebrating Black history, let’s honor the sacrifices of the leaders who came before us, and recommit ourselves to continuing their work.
This year marks the 100th anniversary of our celebration of Black History.
The celebration of Negro History Week and then Black History Month was a call to raise the consciousness of our country. It was an effort to pull the fullness of our nation’s story out of the shadows, because people like Carter G. Woodson knew that erasing the contributions and experiences of Black people from our history robs us all. The erasure gives room for racism and bigotry to grow, and inequities to persist. The erasure disconnects us from the power of truth and knowledge, and sets us all up to be lied to, exploited, and led astray. We’re witnessing that now.
Black History is indeed American History. The more we honor, reckon with, and embrace this fact, the stronger we all will be.
Trump to Zelensky: “You don’t have the cards!”
This was 2 months ago. The planning for the attack on Russia yesterday had been planned for 18 months.
In other words Zelensky knew he had the cards but refused to show them to Trump.
