NEW: U.S. State Department releases footage of American search and rescue teams rescuing a child from the rubble following the devastating earthquakes in Venezuela.

Here are the latest updates from Venezuela:

- Death toll has risen sharply to 1,430.

- 68,900 people are reported missing by families, according to the Associated Press.

- 17 flights with about 1,600 rescue team members have arrived to help in Venezuela.

- Tensions are reportedly rising on the ground over the inadequate response from the Venezuelan government.

“There’s a pile of bodies over there from last night. Newborn babies. Look what time it is, and they still haven’t come to recover them,”said Mileidy Romero, who was searching through the rubble.

“At 8 p.m. there were people alive down there, and they haven’t bothered to rescue them. We’ve located several bodies, and they haven’t helped us recover them either. What are they waiting for?”

A 14-year-old Black boy has been arrested for the horrific rape of a 23-year-old mother in Mastic Beach. The teen allegedly broke into her home, strangled, stabbed, and robbed her before brutally raping her in front of her terrified 4-year-old daughter. The young victim fled naked and bleeding, clutching her child.

Police say DNA from the disturbing crime scene led to the quick arrest. The boy’s Black accomplice remains on the run. Neighbors are horrified by the savage attack. The juvenile faces up to 10 years in prison.
