The recent DroughtNet paper in PNAS has gotten some media attention; we’ll put some links in this thread for those who are interested.

How did our DroughtNet treatments affect plant growth in the first year of the experiment across 100 sites? Read about it now!
Congratulations to everyone who contributed! 🎉
This just out!

Are you happy when plants are sad? Then submit an abstract to our AGU session on drought by Aug 2! Organized with @JuliaKGreen1 and @merneovine.

Despite the snow and rain, we were able to go to @WythamWoods this week to start UAVs training. We are waiting for the growing season to start sampling! @DroughtNet@DragnetGlobal@e_borer

Microbes play a critical role in helping plants deal with drought. New paper by @KBSLTER scientists @jenmj321, Emma Boehm, Kevin Kahmark, @JenLauEvoEco, & @evanssarahe finds response of microbial community to drought depended on the crop species present. https://t.co/OXCrxvQH5y
Productive and fun #DroughtNet discussions this week at @ucsb_nceas. Finally taking a close look at the multi-year drought data received (so far) from more than eighty sites around the world. Great support from @USLTER and @LTER_Net_Office.
A great @ucsb_nceas roundtable by the Drought Synthesis Group showed how coordinated, distributed experiments such as @DroughtNet lead to great ecological insight—especially when they have global representation, are easy to join, and have motivated researchers onboard.
5. @droughtnet, @nutnet…coordinated distributed experiments are abundant across the LTER.
