I am very proud of all the students who performed on the Louisville Leopard Percussionists concert. Lots of diverse music and talent in one space. Grateful to be on the teaching staff and very excited to partner with them to offer another round of World Drumming.
Everyone is welcome to our drum circles and drumming PlayShops. We created this diagram to illustrate the spaces in the circle that are accessible to all. There are spaces to enter and exit that can be navigated by everyone. And, the venues will be easily accessed. No stairs.
I am grateful for my teachers in Guinea who taught me to play the djembe. Today’s solo djembe practice brought back memories and reminded me of the importance of music passed on through the generations. It reminded me of the purpose & cultural identity connected w/ the music. ❤️
