@Projekt_Alpha@korvytron Very true… part of me is starting to consider LMW as not canon anymore ( despite my love for it) because Viv bloody refuses to put it in the main playlist! Even shorts with less plot relevance get better treatment :(
@slaymond_@Dizzieskizze Handing out what is effectively a participation trophy. Perhaps it’s just a shitty personal hangup. But I’d hate for anything I make to get a pity thumbs up because I spent time and effort on something. Personally that would get me down.
@slaymond_@Dizzieskizze For the month) I will say that reading doesn’t take nearly as much effort as writing. But one still does put in the time to sit down and give a story a shot. I respect the ever living fuck outta artists. But nothing is given for free. I’ve never seen the purpose of…
@yaoismus I in no way think you are greedy to want this. But when one expects it… I do think that crosses a line. Not saying you do or don’t. But no one should be expect anything. Readers are not entitled to authors works and authors are not entitled to readers engagement.
@slaymond_@Dizzieskizze But I feel as if leaving a like on everyone I read almost cheapens it a lil. The author still gets a hit if I read it. I rather not be disingenuous and leave a (albeit small) mark of praise on something I did not enjoy. I’d be doing the author and myself an inservice in that way.
@slaymond_@Dizzieskizze While I understand that does come off as “exceptionally” pretentious. I will say I only leave Kudos on fics I’ve completed up to the current chapter and legitimately enjoy. It doesn’t mean I don’t respect the time and effort that went into a work…
@_kittengutz__ Especially in a public archive like AO3. To me the whole point is to get it out there as much as possible so it’s preserved and shared. I’d really like the understand why someone wouldn’t want that again if it was handled in an appropriate manner?
@_kittengutz__ I can kinda understand that. Obviously death threats and purposefully being rude to artists wishes is beyond unacceptable behavior. But I will say that despite my immerse respect for creatives. The distaste for reposts seems overly defensive when it’s in a public setting...
@_kittengutz__ Repurpose, or otherwise use for the reposters own personal gain. I really do not see the harm. Please might you further try to explain to me the problem you face with such an action? It’s honestly really confusing if a repost in question is handled with care even if itcircumvents
@_kittengutz__ Rude in my opposing stance. I truly admire the work that artists of all kind do, even more so the ones that have the guts to share that passion with others. But as long as the finger is always pointed back to the creator and the repost isn’t used in a manner to supplant…
@Tsuk1K4nn4@emyjaegerbmb@softambrollins I get you’re mocking me… But I mean some people have turned social media posting into an art form in of itself. There is no reason to be rude at least to me. I don’t recall shitting in your coffee?
@_kittengutz__ Made public I believe a certain degree of expected exclusivity goes out the window. Again the product is still yours and you can make requests that should imho be respected. But without them it feels like a rather open range situation
@_kittengutz__ I hope this doesn’t come off as disrespectful or hurtful that’s not the intent. As I said there are wishes of artists I absolutely respect and wouldn’t violate it was made known or share anything without permission from a private source. But once things are (damn character count)
