@no1sunkfarmer@Hudsonweather@CordulusFarm Yep we had sporadic thunder storms across Suffolk and Norfolk last night but the biggest storm appeared to be over the area between Huntingdon, Chatteris and Cambridge.
@1901gennelm Kept bees definitely yes. Wild bees there's a few wild colonies left bad beekeeping has a disproportionate impact but there are still natural losses.
Happy World Bee Day.
The vast majority of bees that need your help are solitary and bumblebee species. Honey bees are not at risk of extinction because bee keepers help maintain their numbers.
You can help all species of bees by leaving an area of your garden to go wild.
I recently launched the Farm Staff Network, an online and in person community for people that work on farms (in all capacities).
A platform for farm staff to connect, learn and help each other out.
Farming has never been more isolating and farm staff can often be over looked.
So I'm trying to do something about that.
Expect -
โก๏ธ Online community covering all sectors, plus non farming conversations about money, wellbeing, fitness, parenting etc
โก๏ธ In person meetups, social / wellbeing stuff and farm walks and tours for professional development.

@ElmTreeBees I'd be intrigued to find out how many are 2nd, 3rd or more generation compared with new entrants.
I'm 4th generation but I doubt I would have considered it if it wasn't for my family encouraging me from a very young age.
They will have to tear my wood burner out of my (not so cold) dead hands!
How the hell do they think rural folk can heat old listed buildings that have no easy or affordable way of insulating or heating alternative other than kerosene? Dead rural folk from fuel poverty instead!๐คฌ
