My newest software venture is now in public beta. Today it’s Practice Management for accountants, but there is a whole suite of related apps to come.

Broke friend casually mentions that he used to mine bitcoin on his phone in 2012
”what happened to the phone?” I ask
“Oh I dropped a dumbbell on it in 2014 so it doesn’t turn on, I still have the phone. I remember having like 20 bitcoin haha”
“Wait so you transferred it or lost it or?” I reply
“No I don’t think I did, but if I transfer it, it would be to one of my other old phones”
“Oh so you lost your old phones too?”
“No I have them still” *shows me 4 broken phones in box*
“So why haven’t you gotten the phones repaired and check for bitcoin?”
“Idk aha it’s probably got no bitcoin”
“How do you know??”
“Idk just probably doesn’t”
So I’ve paid $300 to have all this retards phones repaired and data recovered.
We’ll find out in a few weeks
Got a box of old, useless phones.
Casually mentioned to a crypto-obsessed dude that I might have mined bitcoin on one of them in 2012 and have 20 BTC,(I didn’t)
He asked a lot of very serious questions.
I shrugged a lot.
Anyway he’s just paid me $300 for them
When I occasionally talk on stage for @KingsTrust & mention being an ex-con, I invariably get people coming up to me afterward quietly confessing that they too have a secret dodgy past.
Today at @bosconference I admitted to being a .Net developer and it was a similar experience
