The Gauteng Counter-Intelligence Operations (GCI- OPS) led a successful raid that led to 2 Senior Officers, Major General #FerozKhan & Gauteng Hawks Head, #EbrahimKadwa including civilian were arrested. They face charges relating to unlawful dealing of precious metals. They will appear in the Kempton Park Magistrate’s Court today.

2. Lt General #FaniMolefe has now been placed on suspension. This relates to his time whilst at Treasury & in charge of the Procurement Processes and PPE.

3. 11 suspects including security personnel have been arrested at Meyerton Fuel Plant by the Hawks Tactical Operations Team yesterday where the suspects intended to rob the fuel plant.

4. #CatMatlala & Suspended SAPS National Commissioner #FannieMasemola will appear in court on Wednesday, 13 May 2026 on charges relating to the #Medicare24 contract. More arrests expected this week.

5. #FadielAdams bail application will be heard this Wednesday, 13 May 2026. He faces charges of fraud & defeating the ends of justice.

6. The #MadlangaCommission will evidence via in-camera today. This relates to Drug Bursts in KZN & GP. This is the final week of the Commission before it submits its report to the President at the end of the month.

1. The Constitutional Court will hand down judgment on Friday, 08 May 2026 at 10:00 in the #PhalaPhala matter relating to President Cyril Ramaphosa & possible violations of his oath of office.

2. Gauteng High Court sitting in Johannesburg has found blogger, #MusaKhawula to be in contempt of its order issued in April 2026. This relates to defamatory posts the blogger made against #JuliusMalema & his wife. Khawula has been ordered to apologise within 30 days failing which, he’ll he immediately arrested.

3. SAPS has arrested a member of Parliament, #FadielAdams after it obtained a J50 following his evading of arrest. Adams is accused of fraud and interfering with investigations relating to the death of a prominent ANC Youth League leader, #SindisoMagaqa. He is expected to appear at the Durban Court this morning.

4. The #MadlangaCommission heard evidence yesterday from Hawks Major General, #HendrkFlynn who testified about the strange disappearance of 541kg of cocaine valued at R200m in July 2021 that was stored at a storage facility in KZN.

5. The Portfolio Committee on Justice and Constitutional Development yesterday called for legislative amendments aimed at strengthening the powers of the Human Rights Commission (SAHRC) to be expedited. This follows the Constitutional Court judgment that found that directives issued by the SAHRC are not binding.

6. The ConCourt will continue hearing arguments in the challenge to the #NHI. The Board of Healthcare Funders has brought the challenge and are arguing that there were procedural irregularities which ought to have prevented the signing of the Proclamation by the President.

7. The High Court, Gauteng Division is continuing to hear the #LegalSectorCode hearing till Friday, 08 May 2026. This matter is a very important matter in the legal profession dealing with legal sector codes:

7.1 The code is meant to empower and create black leadership and meaningful transformation in the legal profession.

7.2 The Big law firms are hoping to set aside the legal code on procedural/ reviewable grounds. They rather keep the generic code as it is now at the very least until the Minister corrects it.

7.3 The Minister of Justice, & Minister of Trade are opposing this and are arguing that the codes are necessary to advance transformation in the legal profession. The Johannesburg Bar Association has been admitted as an Amicus

8. Health Minister, Dr Aaron Motswaledi will brief Parliament today on concerns relating to the #Hantavirus

2. The USA has denied claims from Iranian Military that the US vessel in the Strait of Hormuz was struck by Iranian missiles.

3. The World Heath Organization has now confirmed that there are 7 cases of #Hantavirus arising out of cruise ship. On these cases: 3 have died, 1 critically & 3 people have mild symptoms. A contact tracing has been initiated with respect to those who were in a flight to South Africa with the infected passenger.

South Africans are being sold a lie at the petrol pump. The ANC government and its mouthpieces in the Department of Mineral and Petroleum Resources keep blaming “global oil prices” and “geopolitical tensions” for the crippling cost of fuel. Yet the numbers don’t lie. Brent Crude is trading at levels almost identical to 2012 and 2013 (around $110 per barrel) but inland petrol now costs more than double what it did back then. The difference? A deliberate, decade-long tax grab by the ANC that has turned fuel into one of the biggest cash cows for a regime that then mismanages, wastes, or simply steals the revenue anyway.
