This National Manufacturing Month, we're celebrating how dairy is building for the future. America’s dairy processors are investing more than $15 billion in new and expanded manufacturing capacity across 23 states, with more than 85 projects planned or underway through 2030.
The investments span nearly every major dairy category and include new plants, facility expansions, additional processing lines and modernization projects. They reflect strong confidence in the future of U.S. dairy as companies add capacity to produce more high-protein, nutrient-dense dairy foods to meet growing domestic demand and expand export opportunities.

IDFA members from across the dairy industry were in town this week advocating for dairy's top priorities, including the Whole Milk for Healthy Kids Act––a bill that would restore whole and 2% milk back in schools.
We caught up with our champions Sens. Roger Marshall and Peter Welch who sponsored and led the bill to passage in the Senate last month. We also met with House Ag Chairman Glenn "GT" Thompson, the lead for the bill in the House.
Join IDFA members in advocating for this important legislation at https://t.co/IWTQNIfWIg. Together, we can get this bill passed in the House this month! 💪 🥛

The long wait is nearly over! We’re closer than ever to bringing whole milk back to schools!
Today’s Senate passage of the Whole Milk for Healthy Kids Act is a watershed moment for children’s health and for the dairy farmers, processors, parents, and nutrition advocates who have fought for decades to restore whole and 2% milk to school meals. Whole and 2% milk are wholesome, nutritious options that kids love, and today’s passage gets us one step closer to restoring them to American schools.
A huge thank you to Senator @RogerMarshallMD and @SenPeterWelch for their leadership on this issue!
Now time to help get this bill across the finish line in the House of Representatives and onto the President's desk! Take action now: https://t.co/iKPBuelaBW
We want to thank and raise a glass (of milk!) to @RogerMarshallMD and @SenPeterWelch for your leadership in passing the Whole Milk for Healthy Kids Act early today! 🥛💪
The Senate-passed bill now needs to be passed by the full U.S. House of Representatives. Let's get this bill past the finish line.

Yesterday, IDFA board members and staff were excited to volunteer at @2HarvestMidTN, where we helped sort and pack more than 32,000 meals for food insecure families in the Nashville area! The #IDFAFoundation also made a $5,000 donation on behalf of our dairy community.
Love this from @TamarHaspel on @ClimavoresPod: "If we want better discourse... we all need to think a little bit less about being persuasive, and a little bit more about being persuadable."

Throughout the pandemic, our #essential food industry workers have fought hard to keep our nation's food supply secure. Write your members of Congress today at https://t.co/XkB1InpOpF to push for the tax relief our essential workers deserve.
Such a truly alarming stat in this @mmcassella story:
"More than two-thirds of those earning a salary of less than $25,000 are now out of a job, according to the most recent Census survey data."

Becca Jerome, #BrandPointPleasant's social media director, has a great message for everyone who is currently #stayinghome. While it may seem like this experience is hindering our ability to grow and progress, she begs to differ (and her newly sprouting sunflower is proof).
To the hard-working, #essential men and women in our critical food industry, those selflessly showing up to work—despite the risk—each and every day, we thank you!
While the work of our public health professionals, first responders, and public safety employees is unquestioned, we must also adequately recognize the service of #essential food industry workers who protect our food security.
