I had a lot of fun creating this design because it gave me a chance to explore a new workflow and a style I haven’t worked with much before.

Experimenting with new techniques and learning something new always gives me a fresh feeling while creating - whether it’s artwork, a skin, or even music.

The goal was to blend a clean tech style with a spy / stealth aesthetic - tactical, coded, functional, and cinematic, while still leaving enough room for the player’s imagination.
With a few tricks, I managed to create an animated radar that fits the game’s style without distracting or distorting the player during gameplay.
I wanted it to feel like a subtle illusion element - something that quietly pushes the viewer to imagine a bit more.
I treated the radar almost like its own mini skin design, building it separately from a simple base and refining it as a standalone detail.

Since this tech direction sits close to sci-fi and shares a lot of the same visual language, I decided to lean into the “Deimos” concept: a counterpart to “Phobos.”

Almost like a brother from the same universe - connected by theme, but intentionally different in tone, shapes, and details.

As always, thank you to Valve and the CS2 dev team for giving us this opportunity and continuing to bring fresh, interesting themes for us to create around.

Having a clear theme really helps guide my thoughts and gives me more motivation to learn new things along the way.
