@guyanesedollyy@BigLarri21@OfRivet@validclipx I’ve had people look at me as if they wanted to harm me for calling them African-Jamaican, african-Guyanese. I think you may want to take your own advice about not acting stupid.
Malcolm X didn’t grow up in Carribean culture. He was raised by his father and stood as being a Black American. No different than bi ethnic people who claim their Carribean identity before Black American identity.
Let’s play devils advocate….
A Caribbean Black aka TETHER as yall say was vocal and lead with charge… MALCOLM X was a NO NONSENSE BLACK.. And knew the power we had TOGETHER.
An American Black was DOCILE, and wanted to play nice with the whites, MLK
They both went to AFRICA.
@BigLarri21@OfRivet@validclipx Keep in mind for some reason I’ve seen a few get upset when someone identities them as African-Jamaican, african-hatian, etc instead of just their ethnic identity without the African or Afro.
This is why we are having two different convos when it comes to equality and equity.
For us, Black Americans we are talking about a dismantling of a system propped by white supremacy.
For them they are talking about improving their standing and mobility within it.
@Ashlee_ash The minute you got caught dead wrong on the facts, you threw your hands in the air, claimed you didn't have an opinion, and tried to cuss your way out of being embarrassed. You can holler "I don't give a fuck" all you want, baby, but everybody sees you backpedaled yourself right
@Ashlee_ash you sprinted straight to "I never said I agreed with him!" That little semantic trick you attempted? It gets a D+ for effort, solely for the sheer audacity. You spent hours defending a technicality that doesn't even exist in reality, got out-classed on the facts, and now
@Ashlee_ash You really thought you were dealing with a dummy who wouldn't catch your cheap pseudo-logic, didn't you? You tried to play an attorney over "Americans vs. Black Americans," but the moment your technicalities got dismantled with actual receipts,
@Ashlee_ash just because it doesn't align with your immigrant background. Please know the difference between race and ethnicity before trying to police our reality.
@Ashlee_ash You’re using shared Blackness to erase ethnic boundaries when it’s convenient for your argument, while completely missing the specific socio-historical context being discussed. You can’t lecture ethnic Black Americans on our own identity or pretend a take doesn't hit our communi
@Ashlee_ash The moment you realized you couldn't run circles around the logic or ignore the receipts, you suddenly dropped the defense and claimed you "understand semantics." You walked yourself right into a corner and surrendered your own argument. Have a great day!
