Iranian hackers deployed a new AI-assisted backdoor called MiniFast.

IRGC-linked group Nimbus Manticore targeted aviation, software, telecom, and energy sectors across the U.S., Europe, and the Middle East.

The campaigns used:
Phishing lures
SEO poisoning
Trojanized Zoom and SQL Developer installers
Fake meeting invites
AppDomain hijacking

Activity was tracked between February and April 2026.

If a government agency or a major financial database is found using unsafe, unpatched, pirated software that exposes state data, they face heavy administrative penalties. This has somehow been twisted on social media into the police will check citizens' personal laptops for cracked software🤦‍♂️

Many attacks targeting organizations in Ghana and across Africa still rely heavily on phishing and impersonation — the same social engineering tactics used by Kevin Mitnick decades ago.

⚠️ Email scams, fake payment requests, and impersonated executives remain some of the most successful attack methods.

Pro Tip:
Enable Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) on all critical systems.

Even if attackers steal a password through phishing, MFA can stop them from gaining access.

⚡ Practical action this week:

- Turn on MFA for email and cloud accounts
- Train teams to verify suspicious requests
- Use a password manager to prevent credential reuse
