@Atwood_HP โThe whโ the what?โ
Brows lifted towards her hairline, a hand resting at her abdomen as she looked out across the gardens for her son.
โWhich boy of mine, pray tell?โ
Everything had been planned, right down to the โtโ for today. The outdoor lunch, the hidden trinkets and goodies throughout the garden, her childrenโs baskets left behind by the Easter Bunny himself- each year the tradition felt new and exciting to Eleanor as she welcomed her-
guests. How Easter had become her favorite holiday? She wasnโt too sure, but it was a very welcomed day to see friends and family about her gardens in all their Easter finery enjoying the beautiful spring day. Lawn games had been set out for all to enjoy, tables upon tables of-
Eleanor could hardly hide the smile at her lips as she looked over her table and the children happily seated around it. Well- not children anymore really; some now sitting across from their spouses as they conversed with one another about a variety of topics and banter. No, her-
George and then Eliza, margins lifting to a wide grin. The civil conversation was sure to last but a moment before an off the wall remark or question would spiral them all into god only knew what. As it so often happened at this table.
She wouldnโt change it for the world.
@PapaWent_HP at his suit.
โI wouldnโt change a single thing. Not one.โ
Her gaze fell across the ballroom, their daughterโs ballroom. And just across the way she found that daughter speaking with another of theirs.
โCan you believe weโve been so lucky ?โ
@PapaWent_HP dare say itโs working.โ
A chuckle escaped the duchess as she leaned further into his grasp, giving a gentle nudge against his chest.
โWeโve made quite the life, havenโt we ?โ
There was a happy like sigh that escaped tinted margins now, the womanโs free hand gently tugging-
@Atwood_HP โHow funnyโฆ for I had the same opinion when I first married.โ
There is was again, that knowing glance thrown in his direction, an air of amusement so very present. As if she knew the future, though of course how could she?
โWill you honeymoon after the wedding or wait?โ
@Atwood_HP โHow does it feel ?โ
Being a married man, it was a sensation Eleanor knew the Duke had not experienced before. A knowing smile and glance had been given to the man as she stood beside him, drink in hand.
@Atwood_HP โI quite find the wait to be worth it in the end, donโt you?โ
His last comment, though short certainly cause the Duchess to give a hearty laugh.
โCome now! I think this house needs the pitter patter of a school of children!โ
Much too soon to think on, she knew as she joked.
@Atwood_HP He was practically giddy leaving this morning. Heโs so very happy for you as well, I hope you know.โ
She took a sip of her drink, a smirk growing.
โTo think, you may now have a brood as big as ours one dayโโ
She joked of course. Their brood wasโฆ such a large brood.
@Atwood_HP โIt makes me so very happy to hear.โ
Her words had been genuine. Arthur you as happy, and so she would be as well. Even if his choice of bride was the smallest bit surprising.
โI do hope Richard didnโt embarrass you terribly while all you men were readying for the church. -
@Estelle_HP โDuchessโโ
Eleanor said in cool greeting, her champagne held comfortably at her side. She had given a perfectly polite smile to the woman.
โEnjoying yourself this evening? Itโs always lovely to all get together in celebration, especially for a wedding I find.โ
