We do not need another tax, another agency, or another promise.
We need clear goals, transparent spending, independent audits, measurable outcomes, and consequences when programs fail.
Compassion without accountability is not compassion.
It’s what I will take on headfirst if elected.

In light of the recent news about KCRHA, it’s worth stepping back and looking at the bigger pattern:
More money.
More bureaucracy.
Worse outcomes.
Seattle and King County have spent years promising that the next program, agency, or tax would finally turn things around.
It hasn’t.

One consistent figure throughout this period was Teresa Mosqueda, my opponent in this race.
She championed the taxes. She held major budget authority. She had repeated opportunities to demand accountability.
But the spending kept rising, the controls stayed weak, and the outcomes kept getting worse.

We really should be talking about how the activation of public spaces with game watches, free live music and clean streets was what made the region pop.
There’s no reason we couldn’t recreate this for big MLB and NFL weekends on the waterfront and in Occidental Square, facilitate cultural food tours before and after in the CID, and really maximize the incredible neighborhoods and public investments we’ve already made.
A lot of what made this past month great can be recreated many times over for minimal cost and effort and improve the quality of life in our region on an ongoing basis.

It’s the type of common sense proposal I would champion if elected. Pragmatic and non-ideological.
When people talk about an anti-business climate here, this is one manifestation of it.
Pushing back on more housing exacerbates nearly all of the issues the left claims to be trying to solve, and yet here we are with fewer homes which will absolutely lead to higher rents and tighter supply.
