“Manchester City Found Out.”
City had been secretly funnelling money through directors' accounts to make illegal payments, circumvent financial rules and gain a sporting advantage. The FA found they had “for years systematically broken the rules... by very unscrupulous means.” The Guardian
120 years later, Manchester City are engulfed in another historic financial scandal.
Different century.
Different owners.
Different rules.
Manchester City Found Out. Again.
City and Chelsea came in with their sugar daddies and bought success. Now they want sympathy for breaking the rules.
When they are largely responsible for inflating the market to such an obscene level that only a few well run clubs can cope.
We won (14) league titles in the 30s, 40s, 50s, 70s, 80s, 90s, 2000s and last season. As well as having the record amount of FA cups (14)
We are a historically successful and well run club and have earned the position that we are in today. Like Utd, L'pool and spurs.
We only really started spending big since Arteta came in 7 years ago, but we are still only the 5th or 6th biggest spenders in that time (£1.3b). City £1.8b and Chelsea £2.47b by the way.
So this idea that Arsenal have been spending freely before or after FFP is total nonsense.
We then went from winning the league unbeaten to a 9 year period up to 2013 where we made a £20m net profit, whilst still competing and getting into the CL every season. Wenger's net spend in 22 years was £200m.
Meanwhile, Chelsea and City were blowing the market apart.
I think rival fans need to educate themselves on Arsenal (thread)
Wenger inherited a cup team with a great defence and Bergkamp. He spent £15m to add Vieira, Petit, Overmars and Anelka. And won the double.
As that team broke up, he built the invincibles team for another £35m
Arsene Wenger was playing the "Pep and Barca" way, before Pep and Barca did it. But the refs and thugs in the PL did not allow it to succeed. Our 08 team played the best football in our history, before injuries scuttled the season.
We need to also please be very loud and supportive for Kendall who was violently raped by an LSU football player and bravely told her story to the world
Everyone who opposed state ownership has been vindicated to such a comical extent that those who defended it should be viewed the same way as people who argued that tobacco was good for lung health in the 1950s.
It was a seemingly innocuous email, sent on a Wednesday morning in January 2017, that started everything.
Arriving in the inbox of a senior official at Manchester City, it appeared to have been sent by an employee from European football’s governing body, UEFA, and contained a link to a financial compliance report.
The City official clicked the download button. That was all it took.
It was not a genuine email from UEFA but a successful phishing attempt by Portuguese hacker and activist Rui Pinto. City’s servers were breached, allowing Pinto to retrieve thousands of emails and documents from the club’s systems.
This week, almost 10 years on from Pinto’s first email, the Premier League announced that an independent panel had found City guilty of all but one of the charges against them, as The Athletic first revealed last Friday.

Pep & Man City spent €200m in January on Semenyo & Guehi to try and beat Arsenal to the League
Arteta spent nothing but instead gave more minutes to Max (16) & Skelly (19)
This was one of the greatest PL victories in history
BREAKING: A shocking new investigation from the San Antonio Current just uncovered three more cases where Ken Paxton gave plea deals allowing sex offenders to avoid jail. This guy is legitimately evil.
