For decades, American schools abandoned systematic phonics in favor of “Balanced Literacy,” teaching children to guess words from context rather than learn how to read, a shift that has left roughly 40% of fourth graders unable to read at a basic level despite clear evidence from cognitive science and real-world successes like the “Mississippi Miracle” that phonics works. https://t.co/6QdJ0OJqXR
This organization (SIECUS: Sex Ed for Social Change) partners with Advocates for Youth, which provides curriculum contest for WI schools on "comprehensive" sex ed:
"SIECUS assets that sex ed is a powerful vehicle for social change. Sex ed can spark social change at the nexus of many social justice movements. "
"It's about being more award of the beautiful ways that PORN was invented to be this wildly unreliable tool we can use to explore our emotions and our bodies in ways that aren't represented in mainstream media"
This is 2015! This is NOT NEW.
And we wonder why @WisconsinDPI doesn't want to answer questions about pervasive grooming and sexual misconduct by teachers against students?
If our schools rely on orgs that promote PORN to kids, what should we have expected?
